The posting

Nestled on the Copenhagen Riviera, CORI Hornbæk Hotel blends timeless design with heartfelt hospitality. We create a place to pause, play, and connect with yourself, our guests, and each other.

At CORI, we deliver light-hearted luxury with soul, welcoming every guest with warmth, elegance, and sincerity. More than a getaway, it’s an invitation to live a little more fully with each stay.

As part of our leadership team, we are looking for a commercially minded Head of Finance who will build a strong financial foundation for the hotel and turn insight into confident decisions. You will combine rigorous financial stewardship with a collaborative, hands-on approach and help shape a high-performing hotel from the beginning.

About the role

The Head of Finance leads the hotel’s finance and administration function and is responsible for accurate reporting, robust controls, effective planning, and sound financial governance. You will oversee day-to-day financial operations while serving as a trusted business partner to the General Manager and department leaders.

Working closely with the IHA finance team and external partners, you will translate financial data into clear commercial insight. Your work will support sustainable growth, operational excellence, and informed decision-making across the hotel.

Your key responsibilities

You will play a key role in shaping the financial foundation of the hotel by:

  • Leading day-to-day financial operations, including accounting, reporting, cash flow, accounts payable and receivable
  • Preparing accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with Danish GAAP and relevant group requirements
  • Leading budgets, forecasts, variance analyses, and management reporting for internal stakeholders and the corporate office
  • Partnering with the General Manager and department heads to support data-driven operational and commercial decisions
  • Developing financial models and insights relating to hotel performance, pricing, investments, revenue opportunities, and cost management
  • Identifying financial risks and opportunities and recommending actions to strengthen profitability and long-term performance
  • Ensuring compliance with Danish tax legislation, financial regulations, audit requirements, and group policies
  • Maintaining strong internal controls that safeguard assets, ensure accuracy, and prevent financial irregularities
  • Managing annual audits and liaising with auditors, tax authorities, banks, suppliers, and corporate finance partners
  • Collaborating closely with People & Culture and Operations on payroll, benefits, workforce planning, and labour cost control
  • Leading, mentoring, and developing the finance team with a culture of integrity, accountability, and continuous improvement
  • Optimising financial systems and workflows and supporting automation and digital transformation initiatives

You bring

You understand that strong financial leadership creates the clarity and confidence that allow outstanding hospitality to flourish.

You are likely to:

  • Have solid experience in a senior finance role, ideally within hospitality, hotels, or another service-led environment
  • Hold a relevant degree in finance, accounting, business administration, or a comparable professional qualification
  • Bring strong knowledge of financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, cash flow, controls, tax, and audit processes
  • Combine strategic and commercial thinking with a willingness to work hands-on in the detail
  • Turn complex financial information into clear recommendations for non-finance colleagues
  • Be an engaging leader who develops people and builds trusted relationships across departments
  • Have experience with hotel or finance systems such as Opera, SunSystems, or comparable PMS and ERP platforms
  • Work with accuracy, integrity, sound judgement, and a strong sense of ownership
  • Be fluent in English; Danish or another Scandinavian language is a strong advantage

Become one of us

We offer:

  • The opportunity to shape the finance function and commercial foundation of a distinctive new hotel
  • A central leadership role with meaningful influence across the entire operation
  • A collaborative and ambitious international team
  • A workplace inspired by nature, wellbeing, joyful living, and meaningful hospitality
  • The chance to contribute to a new destination in Scandinavian hospitality

The CORI Team

You will thrive at CORI if you believe that:

  • Luxury should feel warm, relaxed and personal
  • Details matter because of how they make people feel
  • Authentic hospitality begins with genuine human connection
  • Great leadership is grounded in trust, clarity and integrity
  • Commercial success and exceptional guest experiences strengthen each other
  • Great experiences are created through teamwork across the entire hotel

We work as one team, supporting each other and continuously improving the experience for our guests.

At CORI, we are creating a unique seaside destination where Scandinavian elegance meets genuine hospitality. We believe in crafting unforgettable moments for our guests, and for each other. Together, we make CORI a place where joy, connection, and effortless elegance come to life by the sea.

Delivering exceptional experiences begins with each of us. That is why training and development are an essential part of your journey when joining CORI. You’ll take part in a dedicated training programme designed to support your growth, strengthen your skills, and give you the best foundation for success.

Please submit your CV and a brief cover letter highlighting your relevant finance leadership and hospitality experience.

The CORI team is excited to hear from you!

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
