The posting

The Cornell Center for Enervating Neuroimmune Disease has an immediate opening for a Research Center Manager (job class Research Support Specialist II) to support the Director and Associate Director with operation of the center and its research projects. This is a fixed-term, benefits-eligible position with an initial appointment term of 12 months and the possibility of renewal.

Well qualified candidates will bring training and experience in life sciences, especially knowledge of immunology, microbiology, virology, or genetics. Strong organizational skills and experience in program or project management also will be key to success in this role. The position is a good match for a proactive researcher who enjoys the laboratory and operational sides of research equally and seeks options for process improvement.

The Role As ENID Center Manager, you will provide administrative expertise, lead outreach and communications efforts, and manage research reporting. You also will perform experimental and lab management duties that further the Center’s research projects.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Supervising the collection of clinical data from human subjects and configuring project setup in the REDCap system
  • Facilitating the transfer of research data, publications, and events of interest to the NIH-funded Data Management and Coordination Center
  • Organizing meetings between research collaborators and attending joint lab meetings
  • Contributing to preparation of research reports to NIH and other funders and assisting with grant proposals
  • Working with hospital staff to screen subjects for project participation, interfacing with research participants, and partnering with recruitment services to ensure adequate participation
  • Maintaining and adding samples to our Biobank and tracking sample storage and shipments to researchers
  • Conducting research experiments, such as performing assays on human blood components or culturing human cells for assays
  • Interacting with clinicians and other research centers to acquire samples and survey data
  • Managing equipment and supplies and assisting with regulatory compliance activities
  • Maintaining the Center’s website and social media platforms and serving as a Center point of contact

As part of the Cornell community, you will help foster a culture of belonging and a healthy work environment by communicating across differences; being cooperative, collaborative, open, and welcoming; showing respect, compassion, and empathy; engaging and supporting others regardless of background or perspective; speaking up when others are being excluded or treated inappropriately; and supporting work/life integration of oneself and others.

About Us The Center for Enervating Neuroimmune Disease (ENID Center) utilizes the expertise of faculty at Cornell University, the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York City, collaborators at other institutions, clinicians, and members of patient advocacy organizations in order to perform research on the pathophysiology of the disease Myalgic Encephalomyelitis/Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (ME/CFS) and to promote understanding of the diagnostic criteria and serious nature of the illness by medical personnel, researchers, and the public.

What We Need Send us a cover letter and resume outlining your interest in this position and explaining how your experience and qualifications match the position requirements. Your letter is an important component of your application. For best consideration, apply by October 15, 2026. Note: Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

When evaluating your candidacy, we will look for evidence of the following:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 3-5 years of relevant experience in biological research, project management, higher education, scientific communication, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Excellent attention to detail, good judgment, and discretion
  • Demonstrated organizational skills and ability to multi-task on multiple simultaneous projects
  • Demonstrated effectiveness working individually and as part of a team, including working with multiple collaborators in a research network
  • Experience with software, such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other common user programs, including databases to support data collection, budgeting, communication, and reporting
  • Willingness to work with animal biological materials, including human blood components
  • Ability to cultivate and develop inclusive working relationships with students, faculty, staff, and community members
  • Ability and willingness to travel to occasional meetings with collaborators or to attend scientific conferences

Additionally, although not required, we would prefer:

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
