The posting

Location: Greater Toronto Area preferred (remote with periodic on-sites)

The role

You'll own how Cosmo ships. Every release has to land across firmware, software, and cloud services, and you'll be the person who makes that happen on time and correctly. You'll run the release calendar, readiness reviews and go/no-go calls, manage staged firmware rollouts to devices in the field, and keep our release tooling working. You'll partner closely with our Senior TPM, who owns program health and the overall operating rhythm.

What you'll do

  • Own the release calendar and versioning for firmware OTA updates, mobile app releases and backend deployments.
  • Run release readiness reviews and go/no-go calls, and coordinate release-night execution with engineering, QA, support and our offshore teams.
  • Manage staged FOTA rollouts: define cohorts and stages, monitor device health, and pause or roll back when needed.
  • Own code freezes, including holiday freezes, and the exception process.
  • Own pre-release builds and distribution for UAT, internal testing, influencers and media.
  • Own the release configuration in Jira: fix versions, release workflows and automated release notes.
  • Plan release and incident coverage for holidays and high-risk launches, with clear escalation paths.
  • Write and maintain release runbooks so anyone on the team can follow the process.
  • Track release quality after every release and share what you learn with the Sr TPM and engineering leads.

What success looks like

  • In 30 days, you've run a release alongside the interim owner and documented every manual step.
  • By 90 days, you own the release calendar and FOTA rollouts, and release runbooks are written for firmware, app and backend.
  • By six months, releases ship on a predictable cadence, release notes are fully automated and rollbacks are rare and fast.

Requirements

What you bring

  • 4+ years in release management, release coordination or a closely related role.
  • Hands-on experience releasing software for connected devices, consumer electronics, wearables or IoT, including firmware updates in the field.
  • Working knowledge of branching and release strategies, CI/CD pipelines and QA cycles. You partner with engineers on pipelines rather than building them.
  • Experience with app store review cycles and staged rollouts.
  • Strong Jira skills, including versions, release workflows and automation rules.
  • Calm, clear communication when a release is at risk, and the confidence to call a no-go.

Nice to have

  • Experience with wearables and vertical integration
  • Experience coordinating releases with offshore teams across time zones.

Benefits

What We Offer

  • Competitive salary and benefits including 100% employer paid supplemental medical policy
  • Remote working environment
  • An opportunity to make a significant impact in a fast-growing company
  • Generous PTO
  • Collaborative, creative, and supportive work environment

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
