Job Description

Cottage Health seeks a Patient Financial Advocate for their CH Single Billing Office department responsible for supporting patients and leadership by engaging with patients in response to their questions and concerns surrounding billing and insurance, including coordination of benefits.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS:

All job qualifications listed indicate the minimum level necessary to perform this job proficiently.

Education:

  • Preferred: Bachelor's Degree.

Technical Requirements:

  • Required: Basic MS Word, Outlook and Excel skills; 35 wpm keyboard/typing speed.
  • Preferred: Medical Terminology, anatomy and physiology, ICD-10 coding knowledge, CPT Coding knowledge, EPIC experience

Years of Related Work Experience:

  • Required: 2 years of medical billing and/or patient registration experience.
  • Preferred: 7 years in a hospital environment with extensive knowledge of all billing and registration systems, including insurance carriers, contracts, and types of medical coverage.

*Pay for non-physician positions is determined based on related years of experience and internal equity. Eligible employees may also receive additional forms of compensation, including shift differentials, on-call pay, incentive pay, and bonus opportunities, where applicable. Manager and above positions may participate in Cottage Health’s annual management incentive program. Physician compensation is determined based upon specialty and may include bonus potential.
