Director, Data Analysis

Our services in Taiwan include "Rocket Delivery" which offers next-day delivery for a wide selection of items at affordable prices, "Rocket Overseas" which offers free international delivery on millions of best-selling products from Korea, the U.S., and beyond.

We are looking for talents to help us lead Coupang's expansion in Taiwan. This is an exceptional opportunity to become a part of Coupang's growth in Taiwan and create a world where our customers wonder, "How did I ever live without Coupang?"

Role Overview As Coupang continues to scale in Taiwan, data-driven decision making is critical to driving sustainable growth, operational efficiency, and exceptional customer experiences. We are seeking a highly strategic and hands-on Data Analysis Director to lead our Taiwan analytics organization.

This leader will shape the country's data strategy, build a high-performing analytics team, and partner closely with business leaders across Retail, Marketplace, Fulfillment, Supply Chain, Marketing, Product, Finance, and Customer Experience to unlock growth opportunities through data.

What You Will Do

Strategic Analytics Leadership • Define and execute Coupang Taiwan's analytics vision, roadmap, and operating model. • Build a culture of evidence-based decision making throughout the organization. • Translate complex business challenges into measurable analytical frameworks and actionable recommendations. • Serve as a trusted advisor to Taiwan leadership on growth opportunities, business performance, and strategic investments.

Business Insights & Performance Management • Develop executive-level reporting and KPI frameworks across: Customer acquisition and retention, GMV and revenue growth, Category performance, Marketplace seller health, Fulfillment and logistics performance, Marketing effectiveness, Customer satisfaction metrics. • Identify growth opportunities, operational inefficiencies, and emerging market trends through advanced analytics.

Advanced Analytics & Data Science • Lead teams responsible for: Predictive analytics, Demand forecasting, Customer segmentation, Pricing and promotion analytics, Marketing attribution, Marketplace analytics, Supply chain optimization. • Partner with Product and Engineering teams to leverage machine learning and AI-driven solutions that improve business outcomes.

Cross-Functional Business Partnership • Collaborate closely with Taiwan and Global stakeholders to influence strategic planning and resource allocation. • Support executive business reviews, annual operating plans, and investment decisions through robust analytical insights. • Drive data governance, metric standardization, and analytical best practices across teams.

Team Leadership • Build, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of managers, analysts, and data scientists. • Establish talent development programs and succession planning within the analytics organization. • Foster a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Within the first 12 months, this leader is expected to: • Improve executive visibility into business performance through automated analytics and reporting. • Establish standardized metrics and data governance frameworks across Taiwan. • Identify and execute high-impact growth and productivity opportunities through data insights. • Increase adoption of self-service analytics across business functions. • Build a scalable analytics organization capable of supporting Coupang Taiwan's next phase of growth.

Basic Qualifications • Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Economics, Mathematics, Engineering, Computer Science, Business Analytics, or related field • 12+ years of experience in analytics, business intelligence, strategy, consulting, or data science • 5+ years of people leadership experience managing managers and senior individual contributors • Strong expertise in: SQL, Python or R, Tableau, Power BI, Looker, or similar visualization platforms, Data warehousing environments • Demonstrated experience influencing executive stakeholders through data-driven recommendations • Experience developing KPI frameworks and executive dashboards for large-scale businesses • Strong problem-solving and structured analytical thinking skills

Preferred Qualifications • Master's degree or MBA preferred • Experience in e-commerce, marketplace, retail, technology, logistics, or high-growth digital businesses • Experience leading regional or country-level analytics organizations • Strong understanding of customer lifecycle analytics, digital commerce economics, and consumer behavior • Experience with experimentation frameworks, A/B testing, causal inference, and forecasting methodologies • Familiarity with cloud-based analytical platforms such as AWS, Snowflake, Databricks, or Google Cloud • Proven track record influencing country leadership and C-level executives
