The posting

The Ambassador Hotel OKC is hiring for a Host. You should join our team if you believe...

That the guest experience begins the moment someone walks through the restaurant door. That a warm welcome, genuine smile, and attentive service can set the tone for an entire dining experience. That great hospitality means making every guest feel seen, valued, and genuinely welcomed. That a smooth dining room depends on strong communication, organization, and teamwork. That knowing your restaurant, your menu, your team, and your guests allows you to create a more personalized experience. That every arrival is an opportunity to create an UNMATCHED MOMENT.

You’re a great fit for this role if you love...

Greeting every guest warmly and professionally with genuine eye contact, a smile, and prompt attention. Managing reservations, the waitlist, and seating chart to create a smooth and organized guest experience. Using OpenTable to manage reservations, review the daily reservation book, and accommodate guests without reservations. Escorting guests to their tables, providing menus, and introducing them to their server. Learning the restaurant's menu, including ingredients, preparation methods, unavailable items, and daily offerings. Getting to know frequent guests and remembering their names, preferences, and special requests. Managing seating rotations to maintain an efficient and balanced flow throughout the dining room. Understanding server stations, assignments, workload capacity, and timing to help create an efficient service experience. Communicating guest preferences and special requests clearly to Servers and Managers. Monitoring the dining room throughout service and helping ensure a welcoming, comfortable, and positive atmosphere. Answering the restaurant telephone, taking reservations, and accurately relaying messages. Anticipating potential seating delays and proactively communicating them to Management and guests. Handling guest questions, concerns, and service issues promptly, graciously, and professionally. Assisting Servers and Bus Curators when guest traffic allows, including resetting tables and helping secure food or beverage items. Maintaining a clean, organized, and guest-ready Host Stand throughout the shift. Ensuring someone is always available at the Host Stand to welcome and assist guests. Operating the cash register and accurately following cash-handling and accounting procedures when assigned. Supporting your fellow Curators and maintaining positive communication and teamwork throughout every shift.

We’re excited to have you join us because...

You genuinely enjoy meeting people and creating positive first impressions. You understand that the Host is often the first and last point of contact for restaurant guests. You are friendly, engaging, and comfortable interacting with guests in a high-energy environment. You can remain calm, organized, and professional when the restaurant is busy or seating delays occur. You are able to balance multiple priorities, including reservations, walk-ins, guest requests, phone calls, seating rotations, and team communication. You have strong attention to detail and can quickly absorb information about menus, service procedures, dining room layouts, and guest preferences. You communicate clearly and professionally with guests, Servers, Managers, and other Curators. You are comfortable handling guest concerns and know when to involve the Restaurant Manager on Duty. You take pride in maintaining a polished appearance and understand that your actions and communication are always visible to guests. You are dependable and committed to excellent attendance and punctuality. You are willing to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. You bring a genuine desire to help create memorable dining experiences for every guest.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
