The posting

We are seeking a Mechanical Engineering Intern to join our team in designing a marine robot to clean and inspect ships, even while in transit. This robot must operate in a challenging flow and corrosion environment, requiring rigorous and creative design solutions with high reliability.

Job Responsibilities: Design of structures, mechanisms, and fixtures as needed for the robot and its ancillary devices. Procuring hardware and designing tooling for the same as needed to realize their designs. Own a component, process, or system on our robotic platform from design requirements through to realization & testing. Work with a multi-disciplinary team of mechanical and electrical engineers to integrate EE, FW, and GNC requirements with vehicle hardware.

Required Qualifications: Experience with hardware design, fabrication, and assembly. Experience in mechanical analysis, analytic and Finite Element Method (FEM/FEA). Proficiency in Computed Aided Design (CAD) software (e.g. Solidworks, CATIA, Siemens NX). Available to complete a 12-week internship in summer 2027. US work authorization is a precondition of employment. The company will not consider candidates who require sponsorship for a work-authorized visa, now or in the future.

Preferred Qualifications: Experience in robotic hardware design. Experience in non-linear Finite Element Modeling (e.g. ANSYS, ABAQUS). Experience in CNC machining and other common manufacturing methods. Knowledge of GD&T methods and practices. Experience in hardware sourcing and procurement. 1+ summer’s work experience in jobs related to mechanical engineering, OR 1+ years of practical experience on a student build team (FSAE Driverless, Rocketry, etc.). Pursuing a 4-year degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering.

US work authorization is a precondition of employment. CRABI Robotics does not generally sponsor or participate in employment-based immigration filings. Sponsorship is considered only in exceptional cases at the company’s sole discretion, and applicants should not expect it to be available for this position.

Export Control Requirement CRABI Robotics designs equipment subject to the U.S. Export Administration Regulations (EAR), and this position requires immediate, unrestricted access to technical information controlled under ECCN 8A002/8E001. Under the EAR, sharing that information with certain foreign nationals requires a license from the U.S. Department of Commerce. Because the position requires access from the first day of employment, CRABI does not generally seek export licenses for this position. Accordingly, applicants for this position must be either (a) a U.S. person — a U.S. citizen or national, a lawful permanent resident, or an individual granted asylum or refugee status — or (b) a national of a country for which the EAR does not require a license for this technology. The questions below are asked of every applicant to this position and are used solely to make that determination. They are not used to evaluate qualifications, and CRABI does not consider national origin, ethnicity, or place of birth in hiring.

CRABI Robotics is an equal opportunity employer.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
