Job Description
Join Crawford in Hobart in a role with state-wide reach across Tasmania, managing a varied portfolio of domestic, large loss and commercial property claims from notification through to settlement. You will assess losses, coordinate stakeholders and deliver positive outcomes for customers and clients across the state.
Direct large loss or commercial experience is not essential. We welcome loss adjusters, claims professionals with end-to-end experience gained in a broking environment, and insurance panel builder estimators ready to move into loss adjusting. Training and team support will help you build your capability.
Why Join Crawford?
- Rewarding package – Competitive salary, annual performance bonus and car allowance, plus laptop and phone
- Flexibility & autonomy – Hybrid working and ownership of your portfolio
- Supportive culture – Join an experienced, collaborative regional team
- Career development – Build your loss adjusting expertise through practical experience, training and mentoring
- Meaningful work – Support customers, businesses and communities across Tasmania
What You Will Do
- Manage domestic, large loss and commercial property claims from notification through to settlement
- Inspect damage, investigate causes and assess losses
- Review policy coverage and prepare clear recommendations
- Coordinate policyholders, brokers, builders, trades and specialists
- Manage reserves, costs, strategy and documentation
- Prepare clear reports and maintain accurate records
- Deliver timely, compliant and customer-focused outcomes
What You Will Bring
You will take ownership, solve problems and build strong stakeholder relationships. We are open to candidates with:
- Loss adjusting experience; end-to-end claims handling experience gained in a broking environment; or estimating experience with an insurance panel builder
- Knowledge of claims, building repairs, estimating or property damage assessment
- Strong investigation, communication and report-writing skills
- The ability to manage competing priorities and make sound decisions
- A current driver’s licence and Australian/New Zealand work rights
- A willingness to complete a police check and continue developing your expertise
- Insurance qualifications or CILA/ANZIIF membership are desirable
