Creatif is an art studio that will offer private events and art themed sessions for individuals and groups. We’re opening our flagship location in Pleasanton this summer and are looking for vibrant, self-motivated, outgoing and creative candidates.

Our unique, contemporary and inviting studio has been designed to encourage imagination and creativity. It’s our goal to ensure that arts remains strong by offering learning opportunities for enthusiasts of all levels - introducing newcomers to art and creativity.

Job Type: Part-time - Weekday position

DESCRIPTION:

THE ROLE:

We are looking for local artists to instruct their work and lead planned creative sessions at our flagship studio or other partnered locations. As an Art Instructor at Creatif you will be responsible for interacting and communicating effectively with people of all ages and backgrounds towards creating their own masterpiece.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE, AND ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

 Be well versed in various art forms and have excellent artistic, research, and organizational skills

 Promote a safe and positive environment during all sessions

 Able to work independently with minimal oversight

 Implement proper techniques for group and event management

 Must be able to multi-task; be productive, focused, and flexible in a creative & sometimes chaotic environment

 Provide clear instructions and guide the individual/group throughout the entire session.

 Instruct participants on the safe and proper use of supplies and equipment

 Model positive and proactive attitude, demonstrate a pleasant and professional manner, maintain accurate attendance records and follow all reporting procedures

 Ensure studio space and all equipment are left clean and orderly

 Actively supervise and ensure participant safety at all times

 Interact professionally and appropriately with participants, guardians and team members.

 Comply with all studio policies and procedures

 Promote and cultivate positive personal interaction with patrons, party coordinators and management

 Perform other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

 Previous experience as an art instructor, art teacher ….

 College level drawing preferred

 Experience in building an art curriculum

REQUIRED:

 Must be able to lift 30-40 lbs.

 Ability to stand, bend, reach and scoop throughout assigned shift

 Successful candidate will need a reliable source of transportation

 Flexible schedule with availability during weekdays and weekends

 Experience working in a kid friendly environment

AN IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL ALSO HAVE:

Knowledge of:

 Principles and practices of job site safety, potential job hazards, and state and local regulations

 Basic computer programs

Skill and / or Ability to:

 Use computers and technology capabilities

 Demonstrate proficiency and knowledge in area(s) of expertise

 Work with kids in a class/teaching environment

 Communicate well both verbally and in writing; listen to and understand various viewpoints; share relevant information timely; provide constructive feedback; maintain professionalism.

 Effectively and productively engage with others and establish trust, credibility, and confidence

 Promote collaboration and assist others with their initiatives and efforts

 Consistently build knowledge and expertise about current job

 Listen to and build customer relationships; increase customer satisfaction and ensure commitments are met
