The posting

Job Summary:

We are looking to hire a POSM Designer who genuinely enjoys designing, takes ownership of assignments, and thrives under pressure rather than avoiding challenging tasks.

Job Duties:

1. Creative Design & Concept Development

  • Develop creative, professional, and visually compelling concepts for POSM displays, exhibition booths, customized plaques, awards, signage, retail displays, promotional stands, and other branding or fabrication-related products.
  • Independently translate basic instructions, reference images, sketches, or written specifications into complete design concepts.
  • Demonstrate creativity, initiative, and enthusiasm for developing innovative concepts and solving design challenges.
  • Suggest practical design alternatives and improvements while maintaining alignment with approved concepts and project requirements.

2. 3D Visualization & Technical Design

  • Develop realistic, high-quality 3D models and photorealistic renderings using professional 3D design software.
  • Demonstrate excellent proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and at least one professional 3D design and rendering software.
  • Accurately represent real-world dimensions, proportions, scale, material thicknesses, textures, finishes, and colors in all designs.
  • Translate approximate size instructions such as A4, A3, slightly larger than A4, or specified display dimensions into accurate and realistic 3D models.
  • Ensure all designs are technically practical, structurally feasible, and suitable for manufacturing, fabrication, installation, or assembly.

3. Material Knowledge & Manufacturing Feasibility

  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of commonly used materials, including MDF, melamine, acrylic, stainless steel, aluminum, PVC, foam board, and other sheet-based or fabrication materials.
  • Understand standard material thicknesses, fabrication limitations, and how different materials can be layered, combined, or assembled to achieve the required dimensions and overall depth.
  • Accurately calculate and represent combined material thicknesses. For example, two 18 mm melamine sheets combined together result in a total thickness of 36 mm, excluding additional layers or finishing materials.
  • Understand the difference between material thickness, overall product depth, structural components, and decorative layers.
  • Maintain realistic material representation in 3D renderings, ensuring that specified thicknesses and construction methods are accurately reflected.
  • Avoid exaggerated dimensions, unrealistic structures, or visually attractive concepts that cannot be practically manufactured.
  • Maintain access to a measuring tape or meter scale for physical reference and dimension verification whenever required.

4. Design Accuracy & Quality Assurance

  • Produce accurate, error-free designs with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Carefully verify dimensions, proportions, material specifications, thicknesses, alignment, spacing, and written design instructions before submission.
  • Ensure consistency across design concepts, revisions, and final approved versions.
  • Strictly follow approved concepts, specifications, materials, dimensions, and project guidelines.
  • Review designs thoroughly before submission to minimize errors, rework, and unnecessary production delays.

5. Design Revisions & Project Coordination

  • Incorporate internal feedback, client comments, and additional design instructions professionally and efficiently.
  • Carefully review written feedback and ensure all requested modifications are accurately implemented.
  • Develop alternative concepts, design options, or variations when required.
  • Manage multiple design assignments, revisions, and changing requirements simultaneously.
  • Submit completed designs, updated renderings, and revisions within agreed timelines.
  • Maintain organized design files, project assets, and relevant documentation.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in POSM design, 3D product visualization, exhibition design, retail displays, or a related field.
  • Excellent proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and working knowledge of at least one professional 3D design and rendering software.
  • Strong understanding of real-world dimensions, proportions, material thicknesses, scale, and manufacturing feasibility.
  • Practical knowledge of materials such as acrylic, MDF, melamine, stainless steel, wood, aluminum, and other fabrication materials.
  • Understanding of fabrication and manufacturing techniques, including CNC routing, laser cutting, UV printing, engraving, material layering, and product assembly.
  • Ability to independently develop creative concepts and realistic, manufacturable 3D designs from basic instructions or reference images.
  • Strong attention to detail, ensuring accurate dimensions, proportions, material specifications, and design instructions.
  • Ability to produce high-quality, realistic 3D renderings and presentation-ready visualizations.
  • Comfortable managing multiple assignments, tight deadlines, design revisions, and changing project requirements.
  • Strong ownership, accountability, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
  • Professional attitude toward constructive feedback, revisions, and collaboration.
  • Willingness to provide occasional support for genuinely urgent projects outside regular working hours, with reasonable coordination.

Preferred Experience

Experience in the following areas will be highly preferred:

  • 3D product visualization and photorealistic rendering.
  • Customized corporate awards, trophies, plaques, and recognition products.
  • Exhibition booths, promotional displays, POSM, retail displays, and signage design.
  • Acrylic, stainless steel, wood, MDF, melamine, and other fabrication materials.
  • Practical manufacturing methods, including CNC routing, laser cutting, UV printing, engraving, and product assembly.
  • Developing attractive designs that are realistically manufacturable rather than purely conceptual.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
