This role is accountable for the strategy, security, reliability, scalability, and business value of the technology environment supporting approximately 1,500 employees, including responsible adoption of artificial intelligence across the enterprise.

The successful candidate will combine executive-level judgment with current technical credibility. The role will lead a team of approximately 16 IT professionals, translate business priorities into a practical technology roadmap, strengthen cybersecurity and operational discipline, and ensure that employees have secure, dependable, and effective technology services.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to the duties listed below

Enterprise Technology Strategy and Governance

• Develop and execute an enterprise IT strategy and multi-year roadmap aligned with company growth, workforce needs, operational priorities, customer commitments, and risk tolerance.

• Serve as the principal advisor to executive leadership on technology investment, architecture, cybersecurity risk, operational resilience, emerging capabilities, and technology enabled business improvement.

• Establish clear governance, architecture standards, policies, decision rights, and lifecycle practices for infrastructure, cloud services, enterprise applications, data, end-user technology, and technology vendors.

• Create a disciplined investment process that balances modernization, security, service quality, technical debt, scalability, and total cost of ownership.

• Define meaningful service, risk, financial, and delivery metrics; communicate performance, priorities, tradeoffs, and emerging issues to senior leadership in business terms.

Artificial Intelligence Strategy and Enterprise Adoption

• Define and communicate a clear Credence vision for the role of artificial intelligence in the company's business, workforce, and operating model, giving leaders and employees a consistent message about priorities, opportunities, expectations, and responsible use.

• Develop and execute an enterprise AI strategy and roadmap that embeds practical AI capabilities into core workflows, improves productivity and decision-making, and supports scalable growth.

• Partner with business and functional leaders to identify high-value use cases, prioritize pilots and investments, redesign workflows, measure results, and scale successful solutions.

• Establish AI governance and guardrails addressing security, privacy, data protection, legal and contractual compliance, acceptable use, human oversight, vendor selection, and risk.

• Build organizational AI literacy and adoption through executive engagement, employee communication, training, change leadership, communities of practice, and accessible support.

IT Operations, Infrastructure, and Service Delivery

• Lead the internal IT organization and provide accountable oversight of service desk operations, endpoint services, identity and access, networks, collaboration platforms, cloud and hosting environments, enterprise applications, integrations, asset management, and related support services.

• Ensure reliable and secure day-to-day operations through mature incident, problem, request, change, configuration, release, and knowledge-management practices.

• Establish service expectations and operating measures that improve responsiveness, user experience, availability, capacity, and accountability across a geographically distributed workforce.

• Guide modernization of legacy platforms and adoption of cloud, automation, infrastructure-as-code, monitoring, data, and AI-enabled capabilities when they provide clear business value and manageable risk.

• Maintain effective business continuity, disaster recovery, backup, crisis response, and technology resilience capabilities; periodically test plans and close identified gaps.

• Own IT financial planning, forecasting, procurement, software and license optimization, vendor performance, contract management, and the business cases for significant technology investments.

Cybersecurity, Compliance, and Risk

• Provide executive accountability for the protection of corporate systems, information, and technology assets in coordination with cybersecurity, compliance, legal, contracts, and business leadership.

• Maintain a risk-based security program appropriate for a federal contractor, including identity governance, access control, vulnerability and patch management, security monitoring, incident response, third-party risk, data protection, and employee awareness.

• Ensure internal technology practices support applicable federal cybersecurity frameworks, contractual requirements, audits, assessments, and customer security expectations.

• Brief executives on material technology and cybersecurity risks, recommend mitigation priorities, and ensure corrective actions are owned, funded, tracked, and completed.

Leadership and Organizational Development

• Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing team of approximately 16 IT professionals; establish clear accountability, service ownership, succession plans, and development pathways.

• Design the organization, staffing model, sourcing approach, and partner ecosystem needed to support current operations and future growth.

• Build trusted relationships across business functions, listen closely to internal customers, and lead change with clear communication and practical adoption support.

• Create a culture of service, security, documentation, continuous improvement, collaboration, and responsible innovation.

Customer-Facing Technology Leadership

• Serve as a senior technical advisor or delivery leader on selected customer engagements, particularly those involving enterprise IT modernization, cloud, cybersecurity, DevSecOps, data, AI, infrastructure, or managed services.

• Support capture and proposal efforts by shaping technical approaches, reviewing solution architectures, contributing written content, participating in color-team reviews, and presenting in customer meetings or oral proposals.

• Help translate customer missions and requirements into feasible, secure, and differentiated solutions that reflect delivery realities, compliance obligations, cost, schedule, and risk.

• Provide technical oversight, independent reviews, issue resolution, or executive sponsorship for strategically important programs when requested.

• Connect lessons, talent, tools, and reusable capabilities across corporate IT and customer delivery while maintaining appropriate boundaries between internal and customer environments.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science, engineering, management information systems, or a related field are required; equivalent combinations of education and relevant experience may be considered.

• Active federal security clearance, or eligibility and willingness to obtain one; a current Secret, Top Secret, or TS/SCI clearance is advantageous but not required.

• Typically, 15 or more years of progressive technology experience, including at least 7 years leading technical teams, programs, or functions with increasing organizational scope and accountability are required.

• Must have demonstrated ability to set enterprise technology strategy and to lead reliable day-to-day operations in a growing, geographically distributed organization.

• Must have broad technical understanding across enterprise infrastructure, networks, cloud platforms, identity and access management, endpoint computing, enterprise applications, IT service management, cybersecurity, data protection, resilience, and systems integration.

• Must have experience managing budgets, forecasts, vendors, contracts, licenses, staffing, and investment priorities, with the ability to connect technology decisions to business outcomes.

• Must have experience communicating with executive leaders and presenting complex technical, financial, and risk matters clearly to nontechnical audiences.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
