The posting

Permanent, full-time · Aotearoa Infinite Academy · Includes a teaching component · Start Term 1, 2027

Build a Technology department for the way young people will live and work. Aotearoa Infinite Academy, New Zealand's first online charter school, is a thriving community growing to 2,000 students in 2027. To bring our goals for our learners to life, we're creating new leadership roles, including a Department Lead for Technology. You'll shape how our learners design, code, make and solve problems, and show what world-class technology education looks like online.

What you'll lead

  • Department vision. Set the direction for Technology from Year 9 to Year 13, across digital technologies, design and hard materials as relevant.
  • Course design. Lead innovative online courses and projects that build design thinking, computational thinking and real-world problem solving.
  • Pathways. Connect learning to NCEA, micro-credentials, tertiary study and industry, including partnerships with tech and design organisations.
  • Teaching team. Lead, coach and appraise the teachers in your department, and grow a culture of experimentation.
  • Assessment and achievement. Oversee assessment, moderation and achievement data, and act on what it shows.
  • Resourcing. Manage the department budget, software and tools, working with IT on platforms and access.

Who you are

We want people who are loyal to our vision, passionate about doing things differently, hard-working and unafraid of change and innovation. You'll also bring:

  • A registered teacher with a full practising certificate and specialist expertise in technology or digital technologies.
  • Leadership experience, or a strong record of leading programmes and colleagues.
  • Current knowledge of emerging technology, including AI, and ideas for using it well in learning.
  • Confidence designing and teaching hands-on, project-based learning online.
  • A network in, or appetite to build links with, industry and tertiary providers.

What we offer

A newly created leadership role with the freedom to build a department from the ground up at a thriving, fast-growing school. The role includes a teaching component, PLD support and a collaborative leadership network. Competitive remuneration.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.

The numbers game

What if my background isn't good enough?

We make the most of the background you have. The CV uses every piece of relevant proof your profile holds, and one of the 25 readers reads your whole profile and flags what the CV left out.

Do you really apply for me?

Yes, on the employer's own form, the hardest ones included. Where a question needs you, you answer it right there and AI suggests the best answer. Don't want us applying from our IP addresses? Use our Chrome extension: we apply straight from your own browser.

Is it a subscription?

No. You pay once per CV, from $25. Every application goes out with its own CV, written for that posting.
