About Crimson Global Academy

Crimson Global Academy (CGA) is a world-leading registered private online high school based in New Zealand, with a multicultural student community of approximately 3,000 learners across multiple virtual campuses and more than 30 countries.

Our highly experienced teaching staff are drawn predominantly from New Zealand, Australia and the United Kingdom. Every one of our teachers is a subject expert, and our strong pastoral care network ensures students learn in a safe and inclusive environment.

Students at CGA study at a level that matches their academic competence rather than their age, which means a significant proportion of our cohort is working ahead of their peer group. Combined with curriculum flexibility, cutting-edge technology and the opportunity to accelerate, CGA offers an unusually rich environment for students with the drive to excel.

CGA offers Pearson Edexcel and Cambridge GCSE and A-Level programmes, as well as a US Diploma programme. We are also rapidly embracing AI and emerging technologies to transform and enhance the way our students learn.

Our academic results speak for themselves, and we strongly believe that learning extends beyond the classroom through enrichment and extracurricular opportunities.

About the role

As Teacher in Charge of Biology, you'll be the go-to subject expert for Biology, supporting academic leadership to ensure students receive a consistently excellent learning experience.

You'll teach, mentor and help shape Biology teaching and learning while contributing to curriculum quality, assessment, student progress and the ongoing development of the Biology teaching team.

What you'll do

  • Teach Biology classes and support students in your area of expertise
  • Plan and deliver engaging lessons aligned with relevant IGCSE and A-Level specifications
  • Maintain high-quality course content, lesson plans and resources within the LMS
  • Support academic leadership with quality assurance, learning walks and standardization
  • Help develop, mentor and onboard Biology teachers
  • Contribute to curriculum review, assessment planning and exam preparation
  • Support post-exam analysis, interventions and student progress monitoring
  • Champion digital pedagogy, AI-supported learning and best-practice sharing
  • Collaborate with colleagues across CGA's international virtual campuses
  • Encourage student enrichment through Biology and science-related activities, competitions and clubs
  • Contribute positively to the wider academic and extracurricular life of CGA

About you

  • A qualified teacher with strong subject expertise in Biology
  • Experience teaching secondary-level Biology
  • Understanding of International GCSE (IGCSE) and A-Level programmes; experience with Pearson Edexcel and/or Cambridge specifications is an advantage
  • Confident using digital learning platforms and delivering high-quality online teaching
  • Interested in innovative approaches to education, including the effective use of AI to support student learning
  • A natural collaborator who can support, mentor and develop other teachers
  • Organised, data-aware and committed to maintaining high academic standards
  • An excellent communicator with students, parents and colleagues
  • Willing to contribute to extracurricular activities and the wider CGA community

Location

CGA students and teaching staff are predominantly located in New Zealand and Australia. The successful applicant will therefore need to be based in, or able to work effectively within, a similar time zone.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
