Job Description:

The Rotational Manager is a developmental leadership role designed to prepare high-potential associates for permanent branch or location manager positions within PSS Cross Country. This role provides hands-on exposure to multiple locations, business units, and operational environments through structured rotations, with the goal of building the operational, sales, and people-management skills required to lead a location independently. The Rotational Manager travels regularly to support locations with staffing gaps, seasonal demand, new location openings, or leadership transitions, while actively training toward a permanent management assignment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Rotate through assigned branch locations to learn day-to-day operations, including inventory management, customer service, sales processes, and safety compliance
  • Provide temporary leadership coverage at locations experiencing manager vacancies, leaves of absence, or seasonal volume increases
  • Support new location openings, including staffing, training, and operational setup
  • Partner with location staff to maintain productivity and service standards during transition periods
  • Learn and apply company policies, procedures, and best practices consistently across locations
  • Assist with hiring, onboarding, and training of branch-level employees
  • Monitor and help manage branch P&L, budgets, and inventory controls under the guidance of senior management
  • Build relationships with customers, vendors, and local teams at each rotation site
  • Complete structured training milestones and check-ins with a designated mentor or supervisor throughout the rotational period
  • Travel to assigned locations as needed, which may include extended stays

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Operations Management, or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered
  • 2+ years of experience in a supervisory, retail, industrial distribution, or operations role preferred
  • Demonstrated leadership potential and willingness to relocate/travel extensively
  • Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to adapt quickly to new environments, teams, and processes
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel frequently
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and standard business software

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to travel extensively, including overnight and extended stays
  • Ability to work in warehouse/branch environments as needed

What We Offer

  • Structured path to a permanent Branch/Location Manager role
  • Exposure to multiple business units and leadership styles

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
