Job Description:
Duties And Responsibilities:
- Complete S.A.F.E. observations (1) monthly
- Maintain constant safety awareness on shift
- Verify safety functions are operating correctly
- Understand ESE requirements of all relative Equipment
- Maintain Housekeeping Requirements for the area and how they relate to safety
- Understand Manufacturing and Quality processes and ensure quality checks are completed and accounted for, making corrections as required
- Maintain equipment at rated speed producing cans within quality specifications.
- Develop/follow standard operating procedures for area
- Review key indicators such as alarms, warning lights, down equipment, quality specifications (Spoilage at necker, spoilage beneath turrets, conveying vacuum transfer dropouts, ME trends, Inside spray weights, can quality.)
- Coordinate breaks with Back End staff to maintain can supply to process.
- Change tooling and machine setup as needed to maintain can specifications
- Complete daily preventative maintenance through Emaint system.
- Complete shift handover at the beginning and end of each shift
- Complete process checks and answer AC/CAs related to assigned equipment
- Perform line clear outs during changeovers and/or when defect is present
- Communicate quality issues that may cause problems with relative equipment
- Hazardous waste duties as assigned
- Provide training for equipment operation for new hires
- Performs other duties as assigned
Minimum Requirements
- 2+ years experience in a manufacturing
- Possess good fault finding and problem solving skills, along with attention to detail
- Proven effective communication skills working in a team environment
- Proven working experience in preventative maintenance, troubleshooting skills and equipment re-build expertise
- Experience in using controls and settings on high-speed automated equipment
- High competency in the use of micrometers, calipers and related equipment
- Possess strong math and computer skills
- Must have own set of basic tools
- Able to work twelve (12) hour shifts, both day and evening
- Able to work overtime as needed
Preferred Requirements
- An Associates/technical degree is preferred or a related vocational/technical certification (state electrical license, journeyman license, etc.)
- Work experience in a high-speed manufacturing environment is preferred
Physical Requirements
- While performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, use hands, reach with hands and arms, and may be required to balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, climb ladders/steps, and/or crawl
- The associate may lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision and ability to adjust focus
Working Conditions
- Generally works in a plant environment but will be required to perform some job duties inside a typical office setting
- While performing the duties of this job, the associate may be exposed to moving mechanical parts and vehicular traffic
- The associate may be exposed to a wide range of temperatures
- The noise level is frequently loud
