The posting

We are looking for a senior engineer who can design a platform, build it and guide a client through the decisions that make it work in practice. You will combine deep technical expertise with consulting skills, taking responsibility from the first discovery conversation through implementation, migration and production readiness.

CROZ is a BizTech consultancy. Our work spans different clients, projects and technologies, with a strong focus on complex on-premises and hybrid environments. We work with clients in Europe and America. You will help them turn business priorities into platforms their teams can deliver on and operate with confidence.

WHAT YOU WILL DO IN DIFFERENT PROJECTS

  • Design and build platforms that balance delivery speed, reliability, security and maintainability. Explain the trade-offs and validate your decisions through hands-on work.
  • Write infrastructure code and automation, configure platforms, build delivery pipelines, test ideas through proofs of concept and troubleshoot difficult problems across infrastructure and applications.
  • Lead the platform side of major migrations and modernization projects. Plan incremental delivery, coexistence with existing systems, safe rollout and recovery, working with CROZ or client application and data architects.
  • Make platforms ready for production: address networking, storage, identity, observability, capacity, availability and disaster recovery, including dependencies beyond the platform itself. Balance these needs with the value delivered to the client and the costs of infrastructure, services and ongoing operations.
  • Provide technical leadership to project teams, mentor colleagues and help client teams understand and operate what we deliver.

CONSULTING IS PART OF THE JOB

You will be a primary technical voice for CROZ in client conversations. Lead discovery workshops, ask useful questions, surface assumptions and risks, and make recommendations that both engineers and business stakeholders can understand. You should be comfortable challenging a request constructively and helping the client choose a practical next step.

You will also contribute to presales, proposals, effort estimates and solution presentations. Sales colleagues and project managers bring their own expertise and own their part of the work. Your technical judgement, credibility and ability to build trust are central to our relationship with the client.

Do great things and, if you feel like it, talk about them. Sharing what you build is entirely voluntary, but strongly encouraged: a conference talk, a blog post, an internal demo or a community meetup. It's a great way to spread the word and it often helps clients see what CROZ can do before we ever walk into a workshop. No pressure, no quota, just an open invitation.

WHAT YOU BRING

  • A track record of delivering complex platforms or infrastructure projects, with practical responsibility for implementation and outcomes. Your experience matters more than your previous job title; strong senior Platform or DevOps engineers are welcome.
  • Deep hands-on knowledge of Linux and Kubernetes, infrastructure automation, Infrastructure as Code and CI/CD. You can explain how your solutions work, why you chose them and where their limitations are.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills in production environments. You can follow a problem across application behaviour, networking, storage, platform configuration and external dependencies.
  • Experience with on-premises or hybrid environments, and an understanding of secure access, secrets, certificates, monitoring, logging and recovery throughout a platform’s lifecycle.
  • Technical breadth beyond the tools you use every day. You can assess unfamiliar technologies, connect the pieces and choose an approach that fits the client’s environment.
  • Clear communication in English (brining also German would be an incredible asset), sound judgement and ownership. You can lead a technical discussion, listen to different perspectives and turn uncertainty into explicit assumptions and actionable decisions.

HELP US BUILD AI PLATFORMS

AI platforms are an important direction for this role. We want you to help design and build infrastructure for training and serving models, establish MLOps practices, and put governance into practice through access controls, traceability and lifecycle management.

Previous experience delivering AI platforms is a major advantage. It is not a prerequisite: strong platform engineering foundations and a willingness to develop in this area are valuable too.

ADDITIONAL STRENGTHS WE VALUE

  • Experience with the Red Hat ecosystem, virtualization technologies or public cloud platforms.
  • Experience delivering platforms in regulated or other demanding enterprise environments.
  • German language skills.

PROJECTS YOU MIGHT TAKE ON

Platform modernization A client wants to release changes more often while keeping critical services available throughout a major migration. You lead discovery with development, operations and business stakeholders, identify dependencies and recommend a realistic first step. Then you work with the team to build the platform and delivery workflow, validate recovery and guide the first production rollout. Your architecture is backed by working infrastructure, tested assumptions and a client team that understands how to move forward.

VMware exit A client wants to move away from VMware while keeping business-critical workloads available. You assess dependencies, compare viable target platforms and build a migration plan that accounts for infrastructure, licensing, services and ongoing operations. Much of our work in this area involves OpenShift Virtualization, while the right approach still depends on the client’s needs. You work hands-on with the team to validate workload compatibility, automate migration steps and test backup, recovery and operational readiness before moving workloads in phases.

Introducing or migrating continuous delivery A client needs a reliable deployment setup, whether starting from manual releases or replacing an existing continuous delivery tool. You assess how teams build, approve and deploy changes, then design and implement a workflow that fits their environment. Together with development and operations, you establish repeatable deployments, controlled access, traceable approvals, artifact promotion and safe rollout and recovery. Where an existing setup is being replaced, you plan the transition so teams can keep delivering while adopting the new approach.

Reusable assets for platforms (AI, development, quality, testing...) and adoption You help turn recurring client needs into reusable assets that make different platforms easier to build, govern and adopt. Carbon, CROZ’s family of reusable AI building blocks, is one example. You could contribute platform automation, model access controls, observability, cost management or deployment patterns, then adapt them to a client’s workflows and help their teams use them effectively. We welcome your ideas for other assets and approaches that reduce delivery effort and create measurable client value. Bring a proposal, test it with colleagues and clients, and help turn it into something useful.

If you enjoy owning technical decisions, getting hands-on and helping clients make progress, we would like to meet you. :)

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
