About the role

We’re looking for a Manager of Corporate Communications to work alongside the Communications leadership team to help tell Crunchyroll’s broader company story. In this contract role, you will promote, manage, and support communications across key areas of the business, including e-commerce and retail, licensing and consumer products, business development, Product, Legal, Strategy, Finance, People Experience, and Engineering. Reporting to the Director of Communications, you will support Crunchyroll's business, trade, and industry narrative.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to develop business media campaigns impacting trade and business stories
  • Manage media outreach and relationship-building with reporters across business, tech, trade, and consumer publications.
  • Alongside the Senior Director of Communications, craft foundational materials including press releases, presentations, bios, internal communications, talking points, statements, pitches, etc.
  • Pitch, secure, prep and staff executives at key industry events, including speaking opportunities.
  • Write and craft remarks and speeches.
  • Track all company speaking opportunities – from greenlight to prep; curate external speaking opportunities for major industry events in a handful of key subject areas.
  • Investigate and manage submissions for awards and special issues
  • Work with key executives on trend stories and company spotlights, including prep, talking points, and coaching.
  • Assist Internal Communications with executive support

We are considering LA-based remote candidates who can come into our Los Angeles office twice a month for meetings and team collaboration.

About You

We get excited about candidates, like you, because...

  • 5+ years of media relations, corporate communications, or related experience.
  • Established relationships with media across business, technology, and trade publications.
  • Familiarity with anime, pop culture, and the broader entertainment landscape.
  • Experience working closely with C-suite executives and senior leaders.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong judgment and professionalism.
  • Proactive and resourceful, with creative problem-solving skills and the ability to anticipate issues before they arise.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and follow through.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally as needed.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
