The posting

Crusoe is on a mission to accelerate the abundance of energy and intelligence. As the only vertically integrated AI infrastructure company built from the ground up, we own and operate each layer of the stack — from electrons to tokens — to power the world's most ambitious AI workloads. When you join Crusoe, you join a team that is building the future, faster.

We're in the midst of the greatest industrial revolution of our time. The demand for AI compute is boundless, and power is a bottleneck. We're solving that — with an energy-first approach that makes AI infrastructure better for the world and faster for the people innovating with AI.

We're looking for problem-solving, opportunity-finding teammates with a sense of urgency, who believe in the scale of our ambition and thrive on a path not fully paved — people who want to grow their careers alongside a team of experts across energy, manufacturing, data center construction, and cloud services.

If you want to do the most meaningful work of your career, help our customers and partners advance their AI strategies, and be part of a high-performing team that believes in each other, come build with us at Crusoe.

About the Role:

Crusoe is built on vertical integration, and our advantage depends on how well our business units work together. This role sits at the center of that. You’ll strategize and build the Crusoe Operating System: the software, processes, and AI that connect our business units and make vertical integration a real operating advantage.

You’ll work side by side with the CTO and senior leaders to keep teams aligned, initiatives moving, and priorities clear as the company grows quickly. You’ll support the CTO and a staff of about six, work closely with Cloud Engineering and Product, and have direct access to the people making the biggest decisions.

This is a high-agency role. You spot what needs attention before anyone asks, and you step in without waiting for direction. The problems are real and high-impact: coordination gaps between teams, initiatives that stall without an owner, and processes that worked at one size and break at the next. You’ll build the structure and clarity that let a fast-scaling company run as one organization.

This is not a calendar-and-slide-deck chief of staff role, and it isn’t a program manager scoped to a single initiative. You’ll need enough technical depth to engage credibly with engineering leaders and enough organizational instinct to work in the seams between teams.

If you like getting your hands dirty, do your best work in fast-moving environments, and want a tangible impact on how a high-growth company at the junction of the world’s most important industries operates, we’d like to meet you.

What You'll Be Working On:

- Build the Crusoe Operating System. Strategize and build the combination of software, processes, and AI that ties our business units together.

- Lead internal AI and IT strategy. Weave modern technology into every business process at Crusoe.

- Support the CTO and the CTO’s staff. Partner with the CTO and a staff of about six to keep priorities clear and work moving.

- Be the connective tissue across leadership. Build real relationships with senior leaders, directors, and tech leads. Know what’s actually going on in their orgs, and help them see the things they’re too close to notice.

- Keep the health of the org strong. Chase down open items and keep processes streamlined.

- Build and own the KPI infrastructure. Give leadership real visibility through dashboards, operational metrics, and initiative trackers. Data should tell the story before anyone has to ask.

- Drive quarterly planning. Quarterly planning is run by engineering managers and project TPMs. You own the process, the timeline, and the quality of the output, so every team walks out with clear goals and commitments.

- Keep the org close. Identify redundant processes and gaps, and suggest ways to close and collapse them.

- Push back with technical credibility. Go deep on the topics that matter, don’t accept surface-level answers, and hold people to the commitments they made last week.

- Be the face of the CTO’s office in cross-functional forums. Represent priorities and constraints clearly so individual teams aren’t pulled in ten directions by people who aren’t in the room.

- Stay tight with Cloud Engineering and Product. Keep them from drifting apart between planning cycles and scrambling to realign every quarter.

- Own the cross-cutting programs that don’t have a natural single owner. Production readiness, tooling decisions, org-wide comms, and similar work. If nobody owns it, you do.

- Drive IPO readiness and compliance.

- Coordinate headcount planning and org design. Handle the operational logistics of scaling across multiple sites and countries.

- Use AI tooling and agentic systems aggressively. Aggregate information across a large, globally distributed org, and build systems and workflows that scale.

- Drive follow-through on commitments across the org. You’re the person who remembers what was promised and isn’t afraid to ask about it.

- Tighten the connective tissue between our operational tools. Operational data should flow cleanly into reporting and decisions without manual stitching.

What You'll Bring to the Team:

- Engineering or computer science background strongly preferred, with 8+ years in software engineering, technical program management, or a technical product role. You’ve been close enough to production systems to understand what an SLO breach actually means.

- The ability to operate independently with little direction.

- People skills to talk to every executive as a peer, and to represent engineering credibly to product, executive leadership, and external stakeholders.

- A solutions-oriented approach, with strong documentation and organization.

- Experience in a high-growth infrastructure or cloud environment where things break and processes are still being built. Ambiguity doesn’t paralyze you; it’s where you do your best work.

- Experience helping scale an organization through a significant growth phase. You know which processes to formalize and which to leave lightweight.

- Strong opinions about operational excellence, and the willingness to push back on leaders when follow-through slips. Diplomacy matters, but so does directness.

- The ability to work across teams without formal authority. People trust you because you come prepared, follow up, and make their lives easier.

- The ability to take messy, inconsistent data from multiple sources and turn it into a clear picture of organizational health.

- A scrappy mindset. When the automation doesn’t exist yet, you build it or do it manually until it does.

- Low ego, high drive. You care about the outcome more than the credit.

Bonus Points

- Neo-cloud experience, or time inside AWS, GCP, Azure, CoreWeave, Lambda, or a similar cloud provider

- Experience standing up or running an operations, chief of staff, or reliability function from scratch

- Experience driving quarterly or annual planning for organizations of 200+ people

- Experience building reporting automation, such as pulling data from APIs and generating dashboards

- Background in AI/ML infrastructure

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
