The supervisor ensures work follows approved requirements and delegated authority and escalates issues requiring technical or managerial decisions.

Essential Functions

  • Lead, coach, and mentor the independent inspection team. Set goals, conduct performance reviews, and address performance or conduct concerns through approved processes.
  • Manage schedules, attendance, paid time off, coverage, and handoffs within delegated authority. Support recruiting, onboarding, staffing, and formal personnel actions with the Quality Manager and P&C.
  • Prioritize inspection work based on approved priorities, product risk, and need dates. Rebalance qualified resources and monitor queue aging, holds, blocked work, and coverage risks.
  • Ensure inspections use approved requirements, qualified personnel, calibrated equipment, and complete, traceable records.
  • Supervise receiving, in-process, component, wire-harness, final, source, customer, and Government inspections.
  • Ensure routine Certificates of Conformance and shipment-release records use approved requirements and templates. Approve records or release conforming product only within documented qualification and delegated authority.
  • Stop inspection or prevent release when requirements or evidence are inadequate. Place and remove Quality holds, initiate nonconformance records, coordinate containment, and escalate disposition or waiver decisions within approved processes.
  • Own onboarding, training, qualification, and cross-training for Quality Control Inspectors. Verify competency and coordinate technical content with Quality Engineers or subject-matter experts.
  • Own inspection performance metrics and reporting, including backlog aging, completion to need date, hold aging, coverage, qualifications, inspection errors, and reinspection. Use the data to identify risks and improvement priorities.
  • Lead approved improvements to standard work, visual controls, work areas, and workload management. Do not change acceptance requirements, inspection methods, or product disposition without technical approval.
  • Coordinate with affected functions to support product flow while preserving independent Quality decisions and acceptance requirements.
  • Support QMS and audit activities affecting the team and ensure compliance with applicable Quality, safety, ESD, FOD, workmanship, and product-handling requirements. Identify deficiencies and implement approved improvements with managerial support.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as needed.

  • Proficiency using applicable measurement and inspection equipment, including scopes, calipers, micrometers, multimeters, and other test or measurement equipment
  • Ability to lead, coach, develop, and hold employees accountable while maintaining constructive working relationships
  • Ability to prioritize competing work and qualified coverage in a high-mix, low-volume manufacturing environment
  • Must be able to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, and escalate risk or uncertainty appropriately
  • Ability to collect, analyze, and summarize inspection data and make practical recommendations
  • Familiar with Microsoft Office tools including Outlook, Word, Excel, and web applications; ability to learn and use ERP and electronic inspection-record systems

Required Qualifications

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
