Healthcare Sales & Referral Development Representative
**salary with commission position**
Build Relationships. Generate Qualified Referrals. Grow With CSA.
CSA is seeking a motivated, relationship-driven Healthcare Sales & Referral Development Representative to grow referral partnerships for CSA Homecare and CSA Psychiatric Healing Center.
This is not a traditional marketing position focused on dropping off brochures, attending events, and hoping referrals follow.
We are looking for a business developer and relationship builder who can identify high-value referral partners, earn their trust, maintain strong professional relationships, and turn those relationships into a consistent pipeline of qualified clients and patients.
This is a field-based sales position with regular travel to surrounding counties and offers base salary + commission.
Primary Objective
Your number-one responsibility is to:
Develop sustainable referral relationships that consistently generate qualified referrals for CSA Homecare and CSA Psychiatric Healing Center.
Activity matters, but results matter more.
Success in this position is measured by your ability to create productive referral partnerships, generate qualified opportunities, strengthen CSA’s presence within assigned markets, and contribute to long-term census and revenue growth.
What You’ll Do
You will manage your territory with an entrepreneurial mindset—identifying opportunities, building relationships, tracking results, and concentrating your time on referral sources with the greatest potential.
Key responsibilities include:
- Identify and develop high-potential referral sources throughout assigned counties and territories.
- Conduct regular face-to-face visits with healthcare, behavioral-health, social-service, court, and community partners.
- Build relationships with decision-makers and professionals who influence referrals.
- Generate qualified referrals for CSA Homecare and CSA Psychiatric Healing Center.
- Schedule meetings, presentations, facility visits, and lunch-and-learns.
- Educate referral partners about CSA’s programs, eligibility criteria, services, and intake processes.
- Maintain consistent follow-up with prospective and existing referral sources.
- Convert one-time referral relationships into sustainable, repeat partnerships.
- Re-engage inactive referral sources.
- Maintain an organized referral pipeline and track outreach, follow-up, referrals, conversions, and outcomes.
- Identify which referral relationships are producing results and strategically invest additional time in those partnerships.
- Collaborate closely with CSA’s intake, clinical, administrative, and leadership teams.
- Communicate market feedback, referral barriers, competitive activity, and new business-development opportunities.
- Meet established referral-development, census-growth, and business-development goals.

- One-time referrals develop into repeat referral relationships.
- You consistently generate qualified referrals.
- Your number of productive referral sources continues to increase.
- Your referral pipeline becomes stronger month after month.
- You understand which relationships generate results and strategically focus your efforts accordingly.
- CSA’s census and revenue grow because of the referral network you have developed.
- Your performance creates opportunities to increase your own earnings and responsibilities.
The goal is not simply to stay busy. The goal is to build a territory that produces.
Who We’re Looking For
The ideal candidate is:
Relationship-Oriented You build trust naturally and understand that sustainable healthcare sales comes from strong professional relationships.
Results-Driven You enjoy goals, measurable performance, and seeing your numbers grow.
Persistent You understand that business development requires consistent follow-up and that “not right now” does not necessarily mean “never.”
Accountable You take ownership of your territory, pipeline, follow-up, and results.
Strategic You recognize that not every referral source has equal potential and know how to prioritize opportunities.
Organized You maintain accurate records, manage follow-up effectively, and keep opportunities moving.
Emotionally Intelligent You can read a room, communicate with different personalities, and adapt your approach appropriately.
Comfortable Prospecting You are willing to walk into organizations, introduce yourself, make calls, ask for meetings, and start professional conversations.
Growth-Oriented You want your responsibilities, income, and opportunities to increase as CSA continues to grow.
Preferred Experience
Experience in one or more of the following areas is strongly preferred:
- Healthcare sales
- Homecare sales or marketing
- Behavioral-health business development
- Mental-health services
- Substance-use treatment
- Hospital or healthcare outreach
- Senior care
- IDD services
- Admissions
- Referral development
- Community outreach
- Provider relations
- Account management
- Business development
Existing healthcare, behavioral-health, social-service, VA, court, or community referral relationships are a significant plus.
Candidates without direct healthcare sales experience may still be considered if they can demonstrate a strong history of relationship development, prospecting, sales performance, and measurable business results.
Travel Requirements
This is a field-based position requiring regular travel to surrounding counties and referral-partner locations.
Candidates must be comfortable spending a significant portion of the workweek in the community meeting referral partners, prospecting new opportunities, conducting presentations, and developing business.
A valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and ability to travel throughout assigned territories are required.
Compensation
This position offers:
Base Salary + Commission
The base salary provides consistent compensation while the commission structure rewards measurable performance and business growth.
Commission will be tied to defined referral-development and business-growth outcomes.
Qualified candidates will receive full details regarding:
- Base compensation
- Commission structure
- Performance expectations
- Incentive opportunities
- Mileage/travel reimbursement
- Assigned territory
during the interview and offer process.
Why CSA?
CSA gives you the opportunity to represent multiple growing healthcare service lines rather than a single product.
You’ll have opportunities to develop business across:
- Homecare
- Veterans’ services
- Private-pay care
- COMP/NOW Waiver services
- Psychiatric care
- Behavioral health
- Mental-health treatment
- Substance-use treatment
- IOP and PHP programs
- Court and community-based programs
That means more potential referral relationships, more opportunities to generate business, and more opportunities to connect people with services they genuinely need.
The clients and patients you help connect to CSA may include Veterans who need support at home, families searching for care for aging loved ones, individuals with disabilities, and people seeking treatment for mental-health or substance-use concerns.
Your ability to build the right relationship could be what connects someone to the care they have been trying to find.
Ready to Build Something?
If you’re looking for a position where you’re simply handed brochures and told to “go market,” this probably isn’t the role for you.
But if you know how to:
Open doors. Build relationships. Earn trust. Generate qualified referrals. And turn relationships into consistent business—
we’d like to talk to you.
CSA is growing, and we’re looking for someone who wants to grow with us.
Apply today to learn more about the position, compensation structure, territory, and opportunities for advancement.
