Job Description

To evaluate credit proposals and borrower profiles through financial analysis, customer due diligence and risk assessment. The role requires independent judgment in assessing creditworthiness, evaluating business and financial risks, recommending lending decisions, monitoring portfolio quality and ensuring compliance with the Bank's credit policies and regulatory frameworks.

Responsibilities

  • Independently analyse and evaluate credit proposals and assess the risk of adding a transaction to the Bank's loan portfolio.
  • Identify additional information requirements and conduct detailed due diligence to appropriately assess transaction risks.
  • Understand and evaluate the customer's business model, industry dynamics, management quality, and long-term business viability.
  • Review and analyse financial statements, cash flows, leverage, and key credit metrics to assess the customer's creditworthiness.
  • Structure credit facilities and recommend appropriate risk mitigants, covenants, and security arrangements.
  • Prepare credit assessments, identify key risks, and recommend credit decisions in line with the Bank's credit policy.
  • Ensure credit facilities are appropriately rated, graded, and comply with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Meet assigned timelines and ensure documentation, compliance, and audit requirements are fulfilled.
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with Business, Risk, Legal, Operations, and other stakeholders.
  • Independently handle business-critical transactions and contribute to process improvements and operational efficiency.
  • Possess strong underwriting experience in Mid-Market and NBFC segments, including assessment of large-ticket credit exposures.
  • Have experience in underwriting transactions with exposure sizes of ₹200 Crore and above.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of structured finance, acquisition finance, project finance, and other complex lending structures.
  • Ability to understand, evaluate, and fine-tune financial models, particularly for project finance and structured credit transactions.
