Position Purpose:

The EHS&S Solutions Architect translates environmental, health, safety and security business needs into scalable, integrated and supportable digital solutions across CSL. The role owns the EHS&S solution architecture and design framework, partners with EHS&S process owners and Global I&T to define requirements and target-state capabilities, and ensures solutions align with enterprise architecture, data, security, validation and governance expectations. The position guides the lifecycle of EHS&S technology solutions from intake and evaluation through design, deployment, integration, adoption and continuous improvement.

Reporting Relationships:

• Reports to the Global Head, EHS Systems & Compliance

• No direct reports

Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

1. Lead large, complex, cross-functional EHS&S technology initiatives, including the strategic solution architecture and multi-year technology roadmap project for the EHS&S digital ecosystem; which is aligned with the multi-year EHS&S strategy.

2. Analyze and document current-state and future-state EHS&S processes, identifying process gaps, control requirements, pain points, standardization opportunities and impacts to roles, data and technology.

3. Lead structured discovery with global and site stakeholders to translate business processes, regulatory requirements and user needs into clear business, functional, reporting, data, integration and non-functional requirements.

4. Develop and maintain process maps, business requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, solution blueprints, interface specifications and requirements traceability through design, testing and deployment.

5. Design scalable end-to-end solutions across EHS&S platforms and adjacent enterprise systems, defining system boundaries, integration patterns, data flows, user roles, controls and authoritative systems of record.

6. Establish solution-intake and design guardrails; assess technology options through fit-gap analysis, technical due diligence and lifecycle considerations, distinguishing configuration or short-term in-house solutions from needs requiring an enterprise or market solution. Lead vendor evaluation and technical due diligence, and manage relationships with EHS&S technology providers to influence product roadmaps and solution decisions.

7. Partner with Global IT, cybersecurity, privacy, quality, validation and enterprise architecture teams to ensure solutions meet applicable technical, security, data-integrity, compliance and lifecycle requirements.

8. Lead and partner with central admin community to develop test scenarios and coordinate user acceptance testing, requirements-based defect triage, business approval, deployment readiness and post-implementation validation against approved requirements and expected outcomes. Serve as coach and mentor for teams and/or individuals to accomplish cross-functional global initiatives.

9. Own and govern the EHS&S metrics and reporting requirements, including reporting calendars, source-data validation, data-quality issue resolution and recurring management outputs; partner with metric owners to maintain documented definitions, calculation logic and reporting controls.

10. Other reporting and analytics requirements and own the reporting and analytics capability, testing, documentation and ongoing enhancement of dashboards, reports and data visualizations; manage the capability backlog, dependencies, technical debt, adoption and transition to sustainable ownership.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
