Pediatric Neuromuscular Neurologist - 0.6 FTE | Orange County, California CHOC Specialists | Pediatric Subspecialty Faculty | Rady Children’s Health – Orange Rady Children’s Health – Advancing Pediatric Excellence in Southern California
Position Overview CHOC Specialists is seeking a fellowship-trained, Board Certified/Board Eligible Pediatric Neurologist with fellowship training in Pediatric Neuromuscular Medicine to join a growing, collaborative team of physicians and advanced practice providers within the CHOC Neuroscience Institute. This is a part-time 0.6 FTE, 100% clinical position scheduled three (3) days per week. The physician will provide specialized pediatric neuromuscular care within a multidisciplinary neuroscience environment. Clinical responsibilities include participation in general neurology clinics, neuromuscular clinics, independent performance of electromyography (EMG), nerve conduction studies (NCS), and lumbar punctures with intrathecal delivery of neuromuscular therapies. The physician will also participate in General Neurology inpatient call responsibilities commensurate with the 0.6 clinical FTE. Applicants must be eligible for a California medical license, have completed Pediatric Neurology training, and have completed fellowship training in Pediatric Neuromuscular Medicine. Competence in EMG/NCS and intrathecal injections of neuromuscular therapies is required. Experience level is open; candidates with the required training and competencies will be considered regardless of years of post-fellowship experience.
Clinical & Academic Environment This is a 100% clinical position with no protected research FTE. The Neurology Division maintains a strong teaching and academic environment through its affiliation with the University of California, Irvine (UCI), with opportunities to participate in medical student, resident, and fellow education as part of the clinical role. Participation in neuromuscular-related clinical trials may occur as feasible within the assigned clinical workload.
