Job Summary

We are seeking a qualified Civil Engineer to support civil engineering and infrastructure development works for a semiconductor Frontend FAB construction project.

The successful candidate will be responsible for site development, earthworks, underground utilities, drainage systems, road construction and external infrastructure works. The role requires strong technical knowledge, hands-on site experience and the ability to coordinate effectively with contractors and multidisciplinary project teams.

Key Responsibilities

1. Civil Engineering & Site Development

  • Coordinate site development, site preparation, grading, earthworks, excavation and backfilling activities.
  • Review civil engineering drawings, technical specifications and construction methodologies.
  • Monitor site road construction, pavement works, parking areas and access arrangements.

2. Underground Utilities & Drainage

  • Coordinate underground utility installation, including water supply, sewerage and stormwater drainage systems.
  • Review underground utility layouts and ensure proper coordination with other engineering disciplines.
  • Monitor construction progress, installation quality, testing and inspections.

3. Infrastructure & External Works

  • Coordinate construction of roads, kerbs, walkways, external paving and landscaping works.
  • Support drainage infrastructure, detention pond and flood control projects.
  • Ensure external infrastructure works meet project specifications and requirements.

4. Construction & Site Coordination

  • Provide technical support and resolve civil engineering issues during construction.
  • Review RFIs, shop drawings, method statements and technical submissions.
  • Coordinate with contractors, subcontractors and consultants to ensure smooth site execution.

5. Quality & Regulatory Compliance

  • Conduct site inspections and monitor construction quality.
  • Follow up on rectification works, defects and outstanding items.
  • Ensure civil works comply with project specifications, safety requirements and applicable Singapore regulations.
  • Support relevant authority submissions, inspections and approval processes.

6. Multidisciplinary Coordination

  • Coordinate with Structural, Architectural, MEP, Facilities and other project teams.
  • Ensure proper integration of civil engineering works with overall FAB construction activities.

Job Requirements

  • Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 3–5 years of relevant experience in civil engineering, infrastructure or construction projects.
  • Hands-on experience in earthworks, excavation, backfilling, drainage, underground utilities and site development.
  • Ability to read and interpret civil engineering drawings, technical specifications and construction documents.
  • Experience in site supervision, contractor coordination, technical submissions and quality inspections.
  • Familiarity with Singapore construction regulations, BCA requirements and relevant authority processes.
  • Experience in semiconductor FAB, industrial facilities or high-tech construction projects will be an advantage.
  • Strong communication, coordination and problem-solving skills.
  • Able to work independently in a site-based environment and support extended working hours when required by project activities.
  • Relevant professional registration or licences, where required by applicable Singapore regulations.
