The engineer will develop site-specific software enhancements, automation scripts, deployment solutions, and operational tooling while supporting Kubernetes-based infrastructure, troubleshooting production issues, and ensuring mission systems remain reliable and responsive to evolving customer requirements. This is a full-time, primarily on-site position located at Fort Meade, MD, supporting classified customer environments with occasional travel to Cubic facilities and other customer locations as required.

Essential Functions

  • Serve as the primary on-site software engineering representative supporting Unified Video (UV), Feed Management Portal (FMP), NetOps, and related mission applications.
  • Troubleshoot software, infrastructure, networking, and deployment issues directly within operational environments.
  • Develop site-specific software enhancements, automation scripts, utilities, and custom integrations to meet customer mission requirements.
  • Support Kubernetes-based deployments, containerized applications, and GitLab CI/CD pipelines in both development and operational environments.
  • Assist with software installation, upgrades, configuration management, and release deployments.
  • Collaborate with engineering, DevSecOps, operations, and customer personnel to resolve complex technical issues.
  • Develop and maintain automation using Python, Bash, PowerShell, Ansible, or similar scripting technologies.
  • Perform root cause analysis for software and system issues and recommend long-term corrective actions.
  • Document operational procedures, engineering solutions, and customer-specific configurations.
  • Support system demonstrations, customer testing events, and field integration activities.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field (or equivalent experience).
  • Minimum of 5 years of professional software engineering or DevOps experience.
  • Active Secret Security Clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain Top-Secret Security Clearance.
  • Experience developing software using one or more modern programming languages such as Python, Node.js, JavaScript, Java, or C++.
  • Experience administering Linux systems and working with Git, Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills across software, infrastructure, networking, and deployment environments.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting operational or deployed DoD software systems.
  • Experience with Kubernetes administration, container orchestration, and GitLab CI/CD.
  • Experience developing automation using Python, Ansible, PowerShell, or Bash.
  • Familiarity with PostgreSQL, REST APIs, Linux administration, and distributed systems.
  • Experience supporting Full Motion Video (FMV), media processing, or ISR mission systems.
  • Experience working directly with customers in classified operational environments.
  • Experience using AI-assisted development tools (GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, Claude Code, Codex, etc.) to improve engineering productivity and accelerate troubleshooting.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate operational needs into technical solutions.
  • Demonstrated ability to independently diagnose and resolve complex technical issues in operational or customer-facing environments.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
