Job Description

We are looking for a talented 3rd Shift Machine Maintenance to join our team specializing in Manufacturing for our Cummins Inc. facility in Mineral Point, WI.

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

  • Ensuring Operational Availability: By performing maintenance and support tasks, you will keep critical equipment operational, directly affecting productivity and capability.
  • Upholding Safety Standards: Your adherence to HSE protocols will maintain a safe work environment, prevent accidents, and promote a culture of safety.
  • Enhancing Quality: Through high standards of workmanship and regular quality inspections, you will contribute to the overall quality of the products and processes.
  • Improving Equipment Reliability: Your feedback on the Preventive Maintenance system will help in reducing downtime and improving equipment reliability.
  • Optimizing Delivery: By maintaining equipment and minimizing constraints, you will ensure that production goals are met efficiently.
  • Driving Continuous Improvement: Your participation in problem-solving and continuous improvement activities will lead to process enhancements and innovation.

Responsibilities

To be successful in this role you will need the following:

  • Champion Health and Safety: Act as a role model for health and safety practices. This includes identifying potential hazards, reporting incidents or near misses, and actively participating in initiatives to foster a culture of safety and prevent workplace injuries.
  • Control Safety: Understand and manage risks associated with controls in a manufacturing setting, including electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems. Develop and follow safe work practices to mitigate these risks and ensure a safe operating environment for machinery and personnel.
  • Manufacturing Knowledge: Utilize your understanding of manufacturing processes to effectively implement changes and improvements. Stay abreast of current manufacturing techniques and technologies to contribute to the continuous improvement of the function.

Education/Experience:

  • High school diploma or certificate of completion of secondary education or equivalent experience to the extent such experience meets applicable regulations.
  • This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.
  • Requires some work experience or intermediate level knowledge obtained through education, training, or on-the-job experience.

Qualifications

Maintenance: Local Responsibilities

  • Perform general maintenance and repair activities on facility structures and machinery including Mechanical, Hydraulic, and Pneumatic equipment.
  • Perform preventive maintenance, light fabrication and tool work, and troubleshoot, repair, and replace components on mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and production equipment, including presses and drills, to support safe, reliable, and efficient operations while minimizing downtime.
  • Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and support operational objectives by performing assigned duties and additional responsibilities as directed by leadership.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, job data sheets, and safety documentation while efficiently managing multiple priorities and maintenance tasks in a fast-paced environment.
