In Tanzania, Rijk Zwaan is active in seed production and breeding support (Rijk Zwaan Q-Sem, in Tengeru Arusha) and in breeding and product development (Rijk Zwaan Afrisem, in USA River, Arusha). Currently we have about 500 employees and as we continue to grow, we have the following vacancy for dedicated diligent Tanzanians: Job Summary: The Assistant Accountant collaborates with Financial Controller and other team members to successfully execute various accounting tasks. Responsibilities: What does your day as an Assistant Accountant at Rijk Zwaan Tanzania look like? In this position, you are responsible for: · Maintaining company ledgers and daily financial transactions. · Reconciling invoices and identify discrepancies. · Coordination and management of payment and billing details of external service providers, contractors, and vendors. · Processing reimbursement forms. · Verifying payments and deposits made through the company account and coordination with the bank. · Performing monthly Bank reconciliations. · Identifying discrepancies in ledgers and accounts, tracking them to the source and correcting them. · Managing payroll activities and release salaries. · Managing staff travelling imprests. · Preparation and filling of Statutory payments such as PAYE, SDL, WCF, Service levy, NHIF, HLSB etc. · Preparation and reconciliation of monthly VAT Returns and filling the same in TRA online filling system. · Assisting in stocks verification and reconciliation. · Managing systematic documents filling system. · Creating reports for management and team members. Requirements Knowledge and Experience Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting or Advanced Diploma in Accounting. CPA(T) Intermediate level will be an added advantage At least 3 years of working experience as an Accounting Assistant or Accounting Clerk You have excellent verbal and written communication. Knowledge of basic bookkeeping procedures. Familiarity with Tax and finance regulations Good math skills and the ability to spot numerical errors. Hands-on experience with MS Excel and accounting software (e.g. Navision) Organization skills. Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information. Reliable, honest, and trustworthy. High business ethics. Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines. Good time management. Attention to details. Experience in report writing. Salary Scale: Staff salary rank is according to the Rijk Zwaan Scheme of Services.
