About the Role
Our client is a Singapore-based public-sector organisation responsible for delivering critical digital infrastructure and connectivity services across government systems. They are seeking a technically grounded and proactive
Project Manager
to oversee the day-to-day operations, maintenance, and support of an enterprise
API Gateway platform
hosted on a secure government commercial cloud environment. This role plays a central part in ensuring the platform's availability, reliability, security, and performance — underpinning API connectivity and integration across a wide ecosystem of government applications. If you are someone who takes ownership of operational issues and thrives in a structured yet dynamic environment, this is a meaningful role with real impact on national digital infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead day-to-day operations of the API Gateway platform, monitoring system health, API traffic, performance indicators, and alerts to proactively identify and address potential issues
- Own incident coordination end-to-end — from initial technical assessment and troubleshooting through to root cause analysis, resolution, and post-incident review — ensuring closure within agreed service levels
- Manage and oversee external maintenance vendors, reviewing their technical findings and recommendations, tracking deliverables against service-level agreements (SLAs), and escalating unresolved issues where necessary
- Coordinate all scheduled maintenance activities including platform upgrades, security patches, and configuration changes, ensuring changes are properly assessed, tested, approved, and documented prior to implementation
- Investigate API-related issues including HTTP errors, authentication failures, network connectivity problems, and performance degradation by analysing application logs, monitoring dashboards, and diagnostic data
- Support API onboarding, access provisioning, integration testing, and configuration changes in collaboration with application owners, infrastructure teams, and cloud service providers
- Ensure the platform is operated in compliance with applicable government ICT security policies; coordinate vulnerability assessments, penetration testing, certificate renewals, and remediation activities
- Prepare periodic operational reports on platform availability, incident trends, service performance, and vendor deliverables, and recommend improvements to monitoring, processes, and documentation
Requirements
- Diploma or Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related discipline; certifications in IT service management, cloud computing, networking, or cybersecurity are advantageous (is a bonus)
- At least 5 years of hands-on experience in IT operations or enterprise systems support, including vendor or outsourced maintenance management; candidates with up to 8 years of experience are welcome to apply
- Demonstrated experience in incident management, technical troubleshooting, and coordinating system maintenance across multi-vendor environments; experience with enterprise middleware, integration platforms, or API Gateway technologies (is a bonus)
- Working knowledge of HTTP/HTTPS, REST APIs, JSON, SSL/TLS, and common API authentication mechanisms, with familiarity in networking concepts such as DNS, firewalls, load balancers, and proxies
- Ability to interpret application logs, system alerts, and monitoring outputs to support incident investigation; basic familiarity with Linux and/or Windows server environments and cloud-hosted infrastructure
- Experience working within a Singapore public sector or government ICT environment (is a bonus)
