Site Reliability Engineer (SRE)

Role Overview

We are representing our client in search for multiple Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) to drive the stability, observability, and automation of our Singapore production environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Cloud Infrastructure & Kubernetes: Operate and optimize regional AWS resources and Kubernetes clusters, covering capacity planning, resource governance, cost optimization, and configuration management to ensure consistency and traceability.
  • Monitoring & Observability: Build and maintain monitoring dashboards, alerting rules, and centralized logging platforms for applications, infrastructure, and middleware, including MySQL, Redis, Kafka, and RocketMQ. Ensure alerts are accurate, actionable, and effective in identifying potential issues.
  • Incident Management & Reliability: Participate in regional production incident response, executing and automating mitigation measures such as rollbacks, scaling, and service degradation. Conduct failure simulations and resilience drills, and maintain incident response runbooks.
  • CI/CD & Release Engineering: Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines supporting canary deployments and rapid rollbacks. Implement change management reviews, release checklists, and infrastructure-as-code practices to improve deployment safety and efficiency.
  • Database & Middleware Operations: Manage backup and recovery, performance tuning, and capacity planning for regional databases and middleware. Collaborate with developers to investigate slow queries, troubleshoot performance bottlenecks, and improve system reliability.
  • Security & Access Management: Manage regional IAM accounts and permissions in accordance with company policies. Support the deployment of WAF, API gateways, and other security capabilities while enforcing least-privilege access controls and maintaining auditable data operations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or above in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • At least 5 years of experience in site reliability engineering, infrastructure operations, platform engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Strong hands-on experience with AWS services, including EC2, ALB, EKS, RDS, ElastiCache, S3, IAM, VPC, and CloudWatch, preferably in multi-region environments.
  • Strong Kubernetes expertise, including cluster operations, troubleshooting, resource management, and governance.
  • Experience with Terraform or similar infrastructure-as-code tools, as well as CI/CD platforms such as Jenkins or GitLab CI.
  • Solid Linux administration and networking fundamentals, with scripting proficiency in at least one of Python, Shell, or Go.
  • Hands-on experience deploying, monitoring, and troubleshooting MySQL, Redis, and Kafka or RocketMQ.
  • Familiarity with observability and monitoring stacks such as Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, or equivalent platforms.
  • Proven experience managing production incidents and conducting postmortems, with the ability to troubleshoot systematically and execute mitigation measures under pressure.
