Job Title: Radio Frequency (RF) Engineer

Salary: $115,000-$180,000

Position Overview: Dalcom Engineering in is currently seeking a Radio Frequency (RF) Engineer, to assist in the development of Modeling & Simulation (M&S) software supporting the development and sustainment of a U.S. Army Radar System Integration Laboratory (SIL)

Key Responsibilities:.

  • Develop algorithms for digital signal processing, digital beamforming, and in-phase/quadrature (I/Q) processing; implement these algorithms in C++ and integrate them into a distributed simulation environment.
  • Provide signal processing expertise, particularly in processing radar I/Q data.
  • Coordinate with internal and external teams to define requirements and support consistent algorithm implementation across C++, MATLAB, and System-on-Chip embedded solutions.
  • Analyze gaps and design tradeoffs in the existing simulation environment and develop recommended courses of action.
  • Communicate proposed technical approaches and findings to stakeholders and leadership.
  • Participate in technical discussions supporting near- and long-term system planning.
  • Develop test procedures for algorithm evaluation and analysis.
  • Maintain code quality through version control, automated software builds, and automated unit testing.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a STEM discipline and 5+ years of relevant experience, or equivalent experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD SECRET Security Clearance
  • 2+ years of experience using MATLAB.
  • Solid understanding of algorithms and software design patterns.
  • Software development experience in Linux environments, including CentOS or Red Hat Enterprise Linux, and Windows.
  • Ability to communicate complex technical ideas and develop clear, well-organized presentations for audiences at all levels.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of experience in radar system design, development, engineering, test, evaluation, and data analysis
  • Proactive continuous learner, ideally with public repositories on GitLab, GitHub, etc.
  • Quality technical writing skills
  • Good understanding of unit testing in a C++ environment
  • Competent understanding of Python
