Job Description

Job Title: Field Services Technician I

Funding: General

Type: Non-Exempt

Pay: Hourly

Classification: FT, some overtime required

Pay Range: $8.00 to $12.00 per hour

Location: Dallas County Water & Sewer Authority, Selma, Alabama

Position Overview:

We are seeking a motivated individual to join our team as a Field Services Technician. This position offers an excellent opportunity for hands-on experience in water and sewer system operations. The primary focus of this role will be to support employees in maintaining the grounds and assisting with distribution system operations.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Assist in grounds maintenance tasks including but not limited to mowing, trimming, weeding, and planting.

2. Support in the upkeep of outdoor spaces such as walkways, parking lots, and landscaping features.

3. Aid in the inspection and maintenance of distribution system components under supervision.

4. Assist in minor repairs and upkeep of distribution system infrastructure as directed.

5. Follow safety protocols and guidelines at all times to ensure a safe working environment.

Requirements:

1. Basic understanding of ground maintenance, plumbing, and general labor experience.

2. Ability to follow instructions and work effectively in a team environment.

3. Strong communication skills and willingness to learn.

4. Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.

5. Physical ability to perform outdoor tasks in various weather conditions.

6. Valid Alabama Driver License

7. ADEM Water or Wastewater Operator Grade I/Grade IC or ability to obtain one within 12 months of employment.
