Position Overview

Data Systems Analysts, Inc. (DSA) is seeking an experienced Senior Software Quality Assurance Engineer and Tester to support the U.S. Army's Scalable GEOINT Architecture at Fort Gordon, GA.

In this role, you will ensure the quality, security, reliability, and operational readiness of mission-critical software supporting INSCOM's Integrated GEOINT Divisions and the Army GEOINT Office (AGO).

You will lead software quality assurance activities, develop automated testing frameworks, establish testing strategies, and integrate security testing into DevSecOps pipelines. Working closely with software developers, cybersecurity professionals, engineers, and government stakeholders, you will help ensure GEOINT applications meet rigorous performance, functionality, security, and release requirements.

The ideal candidate brings a strong combination of software quality assurance, DevOps engineering, advanced Python automation, CI/CD pipeline development, and automated security testing experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive software quality assurance strategies, test plans, test schedules, and testing procedures.
  • Design, develop, and execute automated and manual testing solutions to validate software functionality, security, performance, and reliability.
  • Build, configure, and maintain production-like testing environments that accurately represent operational systems.
  • Design, build, secure, and maintain CI/CD pipelines supporting automated software testing and deployment.
  • Develop advanced Python scripts and automated testing frameworks to improve testing efficiency, accuracy, and repeatability.
  • Integrate automated security testing and vulnerability assessment tools into software development and release processes.
  • Perform functional, regression, negative, integration, system, and compatibility testing across supported platforms.
  • Validate software compatibility across Windows, Windows Server, Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), hardware configurations, and network environments.
  • Identify, document, prioritize, and track software defects through resolution using established defect management processes.
  • Maintain a centralized repository of known defects, test results, corrective actions, and testing documentation.
  • Establish software quality standards and release-readiness criteria to ensure applications meet operational and security requirements before deployment.
  • Participate in software design reviews, providing feedback on functionality, usability, testability, and potential technical risks.
  • Collaborate with software developers and engineers to troubleshoot, reproduce, and resolve application defects.
  • Investigate and troubleshoot software issues reported by field personnel, technical support teams, and government customers.
  • Support testing of containerized applications and deployments using Docker, Kubernetes, and related technologies.
  • Review software documentation, technical procedures, and release materials for accuracy, completeness, and compliance.
  • Support software testing and validation activities within STIG-hardened environments and established Configuration Control Board (CCB) processes.
  • Coordinate with government stakeholders and technical teams to communicate testing progress, quality metrics, identified risks, and release readiness.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant professional experience.
  • 7+ years of combined professional experience in DevOps and software quality assurance.
  • Demonstrated expertise designing, building, securing, and maintaining CI/CD pipelines.
  • Advanced Python scripting and automation skills, including the development of automated testing solutions.
  • Hands-on experience implementing and utilizing automated security testing tools within software development workflows.
  • Experience developing, executing, and maintaining software test plans, scripts, and automated testing procedures.
  • Experience identifying, documenting, tracking, and resolving software defects.
  • Strong understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC), quality assurance methodologies, testing standards, and secure software development practices.
  • Experience collaborating with developers, engineers, and technical stakeholders to troubleshoot software issues and validate corrective actions.
  • Strong technical problem-solving, analytical, communication, and documentation skills.
  • Ability to meet DoDM 8140.03 baseline certification requirements for the assigned cybersecurity work role at the start of employment.
  • Ability to obtain the required computing environment certification or certificate of training before receiving privileged system access.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA) or AWS Certified DevOps Engineer certification.
  • Experience designing test automation frameworks and developing custom automated testing tools.
  • Experience performing regression, negative, and compatibility testing across Windows, Windows Server, and Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) environments.
  • Experience using ServiceNow, Jira, or similar platforms for defect tracking, issue management, and testing coordination.
  • Experience conducting software testing within DISA STIG-hardened environments.
  • Familiarity with Configuration Control Board (CCB) processes and validating software changes through established configuration management procedures.
  • Hands-on experience testing containerized applications using Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Familiarity with GEOINT software platforms, including ArcGIS Enterprise and SOCET GXP.
  • Experience integrating automated security testing into CI/CD pipelines.
  • Previous experience supporting Department of Defense (DoD), U.S. Army, Intelligence Community, or other classified government software development programs.

Security Clearance Requirements

  • Active, final Top Secret security clearance required at the start of employment.
  • Must be eligible for access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI).
  • Must meet applicable security requirements for access to classified government information systems and facilities.

Why Join DSA?

This position offers the opportunity to play a critical role in ensuring the software systems supporting U.S. Army and Intelligence Community operations are secure, reliable, and mission-ready.

Unlike traditional software testing positions, this role combines advanced test automation, DevSecOps engineering, cybersecurity validation, and software quality management. You will have the opportunity to develop automated testing frameworks, build and secure CI/CD pipelines, implement Python-based automation, and help establish the quality standards that determine when mission-critical applications are ready for deployment.

For an experienced QA or DevSecOps professional, this position offers technical ownership, challenging engineering problems, collaboration with experienced development and cybersecurity teams, and the opportunity to influence how secure software is tested and delivered.

Your work will directly contribute to preventing software failures, strengthening operational readiness, and supporting geospatial intelligence capabilities essential to national security.

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
