The posting

Are you a recent graduate with a Master’s degree and 0 to 3 years of experience in data governance or data management? Are you eager to make a lasting impact on clients and help shape the future of data governance? Do you want to be part of building a high-performing Data Governance team? Let’s connect!

Your Responsibilities

As a Junior Data Governance Engineer, you will:

  • Support clients in their journey to becoming data-driven organizations;
  • Build and maintain scalable data solutions (e.g., metadata pipelines, data profiling, data classification);
  • Translate client requirements into actionable data intelligence solutions;
  • Design and implement data governance platforms such as Collibra, Soda, or Microsoft Purview;
  • Assist project managers in the technical rollout of data governance initiatives;
  • Contribute to advisory projects, helping clients define data governance roles, responsibilities, and organizational structures.

Your Role

As a Junior Data Governance Consultant at Datashift, you help steer how organizations manage their data and act as the bridge between the business and its data. You dive deep into the business to help define what data truly means by mapping which data exists, what it represents, who has access to it, who is responsible for it, and how it can be used reliably. Together with experienced colleagues, you work on governance solutions around data definitions, metadata, and regulatory requirements, often using tools such as Collibra. You facilitate workshops, give demos, support users, and engage with a wide range of stakeholders, translating complex challenges into clear data agreements and processes. If you’re interested in also exploring the technical side of data governance, there is certainly room to grow in that direction as well. In doing so, you make data tangible, understandable, and usable—and help organizations grow in their data maturity.

Your Qualifications

  • 0–3 years of experience in consulting or service-oriented environments;
  • Certification or hands-on experience with Collibra or similar governance tools is a plus;
  • Understanding of enterprise data landscapes is an advantage;
  • Familiarity with use cases such as GDPR, Business Glossary, Data Quality, Data Lineage, or Reporting Governance is a plus;
  • Strong team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Master’s degree in Business Economics, Civil Engineering, Information Management, or a related field.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
