The posting

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Weekend Localization & Interpreting Project Manager based in Netherlands.

We are looking for an experienced and highly organized Project Manager to coordinate localization and interpreting projects in a fully remote, international environment. Acting as the key connection between clients and a global network of freelance translators and interpreters, you will oversee projects from initial planning through final delivery. You will manage budgets, timelines, resources, and quality standards while ensuring that every assignment meets client expectations. This role requires strong project management capabilities, excellent customer service, and a genuine interest in languages and cross-cultural communication. You will collaborate with clients and language professionals worldwide, balancing multiple priorities in a fast-paced operational environment. This is a full-time opportunity offering the chance to build a long-term career in the language services industry.

Accountabilities

  • Evaluate project costs and prepare accurate budgets and quotations for clients.
  • Coordinate all project phases, estimate resource requirements, and establish realistic deadlines for successful delivery.
  • Use project management tools such as Plunet for time tracking and maintain full accountability for assignments from initiation to completion.
  • Monitor project progress, manage project status, and ensure that deadlines and quality expectations are consistently met.
  • Respond promptly and thoroughly to client inquiries through email, phone calls, and chat.
  • Maintain clear communication with colleagues through group chats, providing regular updates on ongoing tasks and project activities.
  • Negotiate deadlines and rates with freelance translators and interpreters using established freelancer databases.
  • Build and maintain strong professional relationships with language professionals across different countries and cultures.
  • Manage project finances, including budgeting and cost monitoring.
  • Perform quality checks throughout the project lifecycle, including proofreading and final reviews, to ensure accuracy and consistency.
  • Address freelancer questions and resolve operational issues efficiently.
  • Follow applicable internal policies, procedures, and quality standards.
  • Previous experience in project management, business administration, and customer service.
  • Knowledge of localization and interpreting processes, particularly within a project management environment.
  • Practical knowledge of CAT tools such as Smartcat and memoQ.
  • Experience using translation management systems such as Trados.
  • A university degree in Business Administration, Translation, or a related field is preferred.
  • Advanced written and spoken English proficiency (native-level or C1), along with fluency in at least one additional foreign language.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong interpersonal and cross-cultural communication skills.
  • Professionalism, politeness, and a client-focused approach.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, international environment and communicate proactively with clients, colleagues, and freelancers.
  • Full professional commitment during scheduled working hours is required. Job stacking and conflicting concurrent employment are not permitted.
  • All application questions must be completed with full and accurate answers. Incomplete responses may result in disqualification or a request for clarification.
  • Candidates must complete both the Emotional Intelligence and Wonderlic assessments after submitting their application.
  • A background check may be requested before hiring.
  • Fully remote working arrangement, with worldwide eligibility.
  • Full-time employment opportunity.
  • Opportunity to work with international clients, translators, and interpreters.
  • Exposure to a wide range of localization, translation, and interpreting projects.
  • Opportunity to develop long-term experience in project management and the global language services industry.
  • Dynamic, multicultural working environment.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
