The posting

Als bediende douane en expeditie sta je in voor de volledige afhandeling van (douane)documenten gerelateerd aan invoer, uitvoer of doorvoer van verschillende goederen via schip, barge, trein of truck, aangevuld met het inplannen van een mogelijk vervolgtransport.

Inhoud van de rol Operaties

  • Opstellen, controleren en/of doorsturen van douanedocumenten, administratie en communicatie met de betrokken klanten en diensten.
  • Opmaken, opvolgen en afhandelen van douanedossiers
  • In deze rol wordt er regelmatig de combinatie gemaakt met het inplannen van transport voor de eindklant
  • Het werk voor huidige en volgende dagen voorbereiden, waarbij eventuele operationele uitdagingen proactief aangepakt worden.
  • Communicatie daartoe met de betrokken interne en externe diensten (blokkeren en vrijgeven van goederen)

  • Zoals iedereen in het bedrijf ben je mee verantwoordelijk voor de veiligheid van jezelf en van jouw collega’s
  • Er wordt verwacht dat je de veiligheidsregels naleeft (incl. altijd dragen van PPE op terminals)
  • Je zorgt ervoor dat bij elke handeling op onze terminals veiligheid van alle medewerkers primeert in de te nemen beslissingen

Communicatie

  • Aandacht voor een vlotte, vriendelijke en open interne en externe communicatie, zowel mondeling als geschreven
  • Tijdige en proactieve communicatie intern (operations, terminals) en aan het departementshoofd
  • Tijdige en proactieve communicatie aan de klanten waar nodig

Algemeen

  • Aandacht voor zorgvuldig werk en begrijpen van jouw rol in het geheel
  • Initiatief durven nemen voor verbeteringen
  • Meedenken en meewerken aan het implementeren van structurele verbeteringen die het werk makkelijker en efficiënter maken

De ideale kandidaat

1. Kennis Talenkennis:

  • Nederlands
  • Engels (goede kennis spreken en schrijven)
  • Bijkomende talen zijn een plus

IT kennis:

  • Kennis van Office applicaties: Excel, Outlook
  • Vlotheid met diverse IT systemen (bereid tot aanleren bedrijfsspecifieke software)
  • Kennis van douane specifieke software

Douanekennis:

  • Opleiding in douane gerelateerde materie of gelijkwaardige ervaring
  • In het bijzonder: vertrouwd met AEO, CBAM, FAVV, Quota

2. Achtergrond

  • Ervaring in de logistieke sector als douanedeclarant, idealiter in regio Gent
  • Beschikken over een rijbewijs
  • Beschikken over bewijs goed gedrag en zeden

3. Competenties

  • Flexibiliteit
  • Zelfstandig georganiseerd, administratief onderlegd en precies
  • Hands-on mentaliteit: praktisch ingesteld en probleemoplossend denken
  • Communicatief: communicatie havenarbeid, collega’s, klanten
