The posting

Als waterklerk ben je de schakel tussen schip en kantoor. Je organiseert de aanloop van het schip van A tot Z: Hierbij sta je in voor ligplaatsaanvragen, in- en uitklaren van schepen, douaneformaliteiten, aan- en/of afmonstering van bemanningsleden en/of eventuele passagiers, je coördineert de aanlevering van bunkers, proviandering, eventuele reparaties enz. Bovendien ben je het aanspreekpunt voor alle gerelateerde partijen en sta je in voor de dagdagelijks opvolging en rapportering.

Inhoud van de rol

  • Het werk voor huidige en volgende shift voorbereiden en planbaar maken, waarbij eventuele operationele uitdagingen proactief aangepakt worden.
  • Je volgt nauwkeurig alle informatie op over scheepsposities, ligplaatsen, …
  • Je verzorgt en behandelt diverse scheeps- en ladingsdocumentatie.
  • Je vormt de schakel tussen en kantoor en schip en staat in nauw contact met opdrachtgevers en lokale dienstverleners.
  • Tijdens het verblijf van het schip voer je scheepsbezoeken uit.
  • Je zorgt ervoor dat alle werkzaamheden omtrent schepen, lading en bemanning wordt voorbereid, uitgevoerd en afgewerkt. Samen met collega’s neem je afwisselend administratie en facturatie op.

Veiligheid

  • Zoals iedereen in het bedrijf ben je mee verantwoordelijk voor de veiligheid van jezelf en van jouw collega’s
  • Er wordt verwacht dat je de veiligheidsregels naleeft (incl. altijd dragen van PPE op terminal)
  • Je zorgt ervoor dat bij elke handeling op onze terminals veiligheid van alle medewerkers primeert in de te nemen beslissingen

Communicatie

  • Aandacht voor een vlotte, vriendelijke en open interne en externe communicatie, zowel mondeling als geschreven
  • Tijdige en proactieve communicatie aan departementshoofd en collega’s
  • Tijdige en proactieve communicatie aan de klanten

Algemeen

  • Aandacht voor zorgvuldig werk en begrijpen van jouw rol in het geheel
  • Initiatief durven nemen voor verbeteringen
  • Meedenken en meewerken aan het implementeren van structurele verbeteringen die het werk makkelijker en efficiënter maken

De ideale kandidaat

1. Kennis Talenkennis:

  • Nederlands
  • Engels (goede kennis; spreken en schrijven)
  • Bijkomende talen zijn een plus

IT kennis:

  • Kennis van Office applicaties: Excel, Outlook
  • Vlotheid met diverse IT systemen (bereid tot aanleren bedrijfsspecifieke software)
  • Kennis SAP is een pluspunt

Andere:

  • Kennis van transportdocumenten is een plus

2. Achtergrond

  • Ervaring in de logistieke sector is een pluspunt, bij voorkeur als waterklerk
  • Beschikken over een rijbewijs: je rijdt namelijk ook naar de schepen die zowel in Zeebrugge als in Antwerpen liggen.
  • Beschikken over bewijs goed gedrag en zeden

3. Competenties

  • Flexibiliteit: in beurtrol ben je standby (avond/weekend)
  • Hands-on mentaliteit: praktisch ingesteld en probleemoplossend denken
  • Zowel zelfstandig als vlot in team werkend, georganiseerd en gestructureerd
  • Communicatief: communicatie havenarbeid, collega’s, klanten
