The posting

About Our Young Fashion Division

Our Young Fashion division brings together some of the UK's best-known fashion brands, including boohoo, PrettyLittleThing, Misspap, Warehouse and DSGN Studio.

It's a fast-moving, creative and ambitious part of Debenhams Group, where great ideas, commercial thinking and a passion for fashion come together. We're building brands for the next generation of customers, and we're looking for talented people who want to be part of what's next.

The Opportunity

An iconic brand. A fresh direction. Your chance to shape what's next.

We're looking for a talented, highly creative and commercially minded Senior Designer to play a pivotal role in the relaunch of Warehouse.

This is a rare opportunity to take ownership (alongside the Head of Design) of the design direction for one of Britain's most recognised fashion brands, helping to redefine its identity and create collections that feel modern, elevated and relevant.

We're looking for someone with a strong, contemporary design handwriting. Someone who understands beautiful cuts, clean silhouettes, considered details and how to translate premium fashion inspiration into commercially successful high-street collections.

As the sole dedicated designer for Warehouse, you'll have real creative freedom across the range, working closely with Buying, Merchandising and Garment Technology to bring your vision to life.

You'll need to be equally comfortable setting the creative direction and getting stuck into the detail, from initial concepts and sketching through to fittings and final product.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a designer who is ready to step up, take ownership and make a real impact.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Set the creative direction for Warehouse, developing a clear and distinctive design identity that reflects the brand's next chapter.
  • Design contemporary, commercially relevant womenswear collections across tailoring, dresses, jersey, woven, outerwear and occasionwear.
  • Identify key trends, shapes, fabrics and hero pieces that will define the Warehouse aesthetic.
  • Create seasonal concepts, mood boards, trend presentations and detailed design packs.
  • Translate premium and designer-led inspiration into elevated, accessible high-street product.
  • Work closely with Buying and Merchandising to build cohesive, commercially successful ranges.
  • Partner with Garment Technology throughout the development process, taking ownership of fit, finish, quality and attention to detail.
  • Produce accurate sketches, technical packs and specifications to support product development.
  • Embrace new design technologies, including AI tools, to enhance creativity, speed and efficiency.
  • Build strong relationships with suppliers, supporting product development from initial concept through to production.
  • Confidently present creative direction, range plans and key product opportunities to senior leadership.
  • Travel internationally for inspiration and sourcing, including planned trips to Europe and the Far East.

What We're Looking For

We're looking for a designer with a great eye, strong commercial instincts and the confidence to take ownership of a brand's creative direction.

You'll ideally bring:

  • At least five years' experience in womenswear design, ideally gained within a fast-paced fashion retailer or established high-street brand.
  • Strong multi-product design experience, particularly across tailoring, dresses, jersey and woven categories.
  • A contemporary, elevated and understated design aesthetic, with a real appreciation for silhouette, fabric, fit and finish.
  • A strong understanding of the UK fashion market, emerging trends and what drives commercial success.
  • The ability to balance creativity with customer insight, price architecture and commercial performance.
  • Confidence presenting ideas and influencing senior stakeholders.
  • Excellent technical design skills, including Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.
  • Experience working closely with Buying, Merchandising, Garment Technology and suppliers.
  • An interest in emerging technologies, including AI-led design tools.
  • A proactive, entrepreneurial mindset and the confidence to make decisions, challenge thinking and drive ideas forward.

Above all, we're looking for someone who is passionate about product, has a clear creative point of view and is excited by the opportunity to help relaunch an iconic British fashion brand.

Why Join Us?

2026 is about bold moves, real results and building momentum across Debenhams Group.

The relaunch of Warehouse is an exciting part of that journey, and this role offers something genuinely different: the opportunity to have real creative influence, work closely with senior leadership and see your ideas shape the future of a brand.

You'll be based at our Dale Street HQ in Manchester, working alongside a talented, ambitious team who are passionate about creating brilliant product.

Our Benefits

Subject to level and eligibility, our benefits include:

  • Competitive bonus scheme, company pension, share schemes, private medical cover and life assurance
  • Generous discounts across our brands
  • On-site gym and free weekly Pilates, yoga and fitness classes
  • Comprehensive wellbeing support

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
