Job Description

Color, Material, and Finish (CMF) Designer, Experience Design Group

Are you someone who sees the world in colors, textures, and materials? We’re looking for a curious, hands-on CMF designer who is ready to turn everyday products into tactile experiences people want to touch.

Join us to do the best work of your career and make a meaningful impact as a CMF Designer on our Experience Design Group in Austin, Texas.

What You’ll Achieve

This role focuses on color, material, and finish (CMF) design for product lines. You’ll collaborate closely with Industrial Designers, Engineers, Brand, Marketing, and suppliers to create cohesive product experiences where color, materials, and finishes work together seamlessly. You’ll learn how concepts move from sketches and sample boards into production-ready specifications.

Responsibilities

You will:

  • Support the development of CMF concepts and color palettes for product lines, accessories, and future products, from early research through final execution
  • Research emerging materials, finishes, and color trends, and share insights that inform design direction
  • Help build and maintain a master sample library of colors, materials, and finishes
  • Create clear CMF specifications and visual guidelines that support production
  • Partner with Industrial Design, Engineering, and suppliers to check design feasibility and manufacturability
  • Present design ideas and rationale to team members and stakeholders, and take feedback to refine your work
  • Explore sustainable and eco-friendly material options as part of your everyday design decisions

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
