Senior Engineer, Field Service

Taking our technical skills to customer sites, we’re responsible for everything from installation, configuration and integration, through to maintenance, troubleshooting and repair. We also work closely with our designers, solution managers and sales specialists to provide solutions.

What you’ll achieve

As a Senior Engineer, Field Service, you will collaborate with peers, apply technical expertise, diagnosis tools and analytical practices to resolve customer issues, taking care of our customers by delivering outstanding on-site support and creating a great customer experience.

Responsibilities

You will:

  • Conduct advanced installation of technical solutions following predefined procedures and tasks in everyday activities
  • Escalate technical issues to a more senior-level technical specialist and support more senior-level technical specialists in deployments involving greater complexity
  • Perform advanced troubleshooting, parts replacement, system upgrades, and deployments
  • Establish and build positive customer relationships and ensure complete customer satisfaction by adhering to the following: prompt onsite arrival times, technical expertise, knowledge of the customer's solution, professionalism, and visits as needed
  • Perform part replacements as directed by the technical support lab. This includes the timely and accurate submission of all associated documentation and the return of the part within 24 hours of the event
  • Travel to customer locations domestically in the United States for any duration as needed, and maintain and submit detailed expense reports

Essential Requirements:

  • 7+ years of professional technical work experience with an associate's degree or greater in a technical discipline·
  • Able to perform advanced diagnostics, troubleshooting, and technical assistance for hardware/software issues. Assist with the development of solutions for complex issues.
  • Experience delivering technical Field Services supporting hardware and software at client sites
  • Experience working in locations where client has a large, concentrated deployment of assets and experience with networking and Fiber
  • Active Top Secret / Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) clearance with Counterintelligence Polygraph (CI Poly).

Desirable Requirements:

  • Dell EMC Proven Professional Specialist Level certification (1 or more: CPSD (Converged, Hyper Converged) and Server (PowerEdge)
  • Industry certifications CompTIA Certifications: Tech+, A+, Security+, Network+, etc. and Networking certifications CCNA or equivalent

Compensation

Dell is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The salary range for this position is $92,650 - $125,000.
