Delrin® Job Description Accountant Job Description: The accountant is an exciting opportunity to take responsibility for and deliver results in the Finance and Accounting group/function. The APAC General Ledger Accountant is responsible for the end-to-end general ledger accounting processes across the APAC region, ensuring accurate financial reporting and compliance with applicable accounting standards and regulatory requirements. This role requires a solid understanding of PRC Accounting Standards and a working knowledge of international accounting frameworks. The position provides technical accounting support to business and finance stakeholders, oversees month-end and year-end closing activities, prepares statutory and management financial statements, and supports tax compliance and reporting requirements to all the authorities. The role will coordinate internal and external audits, ensuring compliance with corporate policies and local regulations while maintaining effective internal controls. As a trusted business partner, the accountant also provides financial and accounting support for business initiatives, process improvements, organizational changes, and other strategic projects across the region. Key Responsibilities:
Manage day-to-day general ledger accounting activities across APAC entities, ensuring accurate and timely recording of financial transactions in compliance with company policies and applicable accounting standards. Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes, including journal entry preparation, account reconciliations, variance analysis, and balance sheet reviews. Prepare statutory and management financial statements in accordance with PRC GAAP and support reporting requirements to the stakeholders. Provide technical accounting guidance and support on accounting treatments for routine and non-routine transactions, ensuring compliance with local and international accounting requirements. Support tax compliance activities by collaborating with internal and external stakeholders on tax filings, tax provision calculations, and regulatory reporting requirements. Coordinate and support internal audits, external audits, statutory audits, and tax audits, including preparation of audit schedules, supporting documentation, and responses to auditor inquiries. Maintain and strengthen internal controls and financial processes to ensure compliance with corporate policies, regulatory requirements, and best accounting practices. Partner with business functions to provide financial and accounting support for new initiatives, operational activities, system implementations, and organizational changes. Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance accounting processes, reporting quality, automation, and operational efficiency. Collaborate with regional and global finance teams to ensure consistent application of accounting policies and alignment with corporate reporting requirements.
Ideal Profile:
Educational Background: Bachelor's degree or above in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field from an accredited full-time university Minimum 3 years of accounting experience in trading and/or manufacturing companies, preferably within a multinational environment. Strong background in Finance and accounting
Big Four or other public accounting firm experience is preferred. Demonstrated experience leading accounting, audit, system implementation, or process improvement projects independently. Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across regional and global teams. Business-minded with a collaborative approach and the ability to understand and address the needs of both finance and non-finance stakeholders. High attention to detail, strong sense of accountability, and commitment to accuracy and compliance. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Fluent English communication skills, both written and verbal. Able to thrive in a dynamic multinational environment and adapt to changing business needs. Based in Shanghai.
