The posting

We are seeking an experienced Governance & Compliance Manager to support a key Financial Services client on an initial 3-month FTC or contract basis, with potential for extension. This role combines strategic leadership with hands-on delivery, providing specialist compliance governance, policy management and regulatory support within a client-facing environment. The successful candidate will work closely with senior client stakeholders to strengthen governance frameworks, interpret regulatory requirements and provide practical Second Line guidance and challenge across the business.

The Governance & Compliance Manager will play a key role in leading and delivering Financial Services Compliance governance and policy activities for a significant client engagement. The role will be responsible for operating and enhancing the Compliance Policy and Governance Framework, supporting regulatory interpretation, facilitating governance processes and providing practical, risk-based Second Line challenge. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced compliance professional who can quickly establish credibility with senior stakeholders, influence decision-making and balance strategic oversight with operational execution in a fast-paced client environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide interim leadership across Financial Services Compliance governance and policy activity.
  • Lead the operation, enhancement and ongoing maintenance of the Financial Services Compliance Policy and Governance Framework.
  • Drive policy review, development and implementation programmes to ensure alignment with regulatory expectations and business objectives.
  • Interpret and translate regulatory developments into practical business requirements and actionable compliance guidance.
  • Support governance committees, forums and reporting processes, ensuring effective oversight and escalation of compliance matters.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders, providing practical Second Line guidance, support and constructive challenge.
  • Partner with business and functional leaders to strengthen compliance culture, governance standards and risk awareness across the organisation.
  • Support regulatory engagements, internal reviews and governance-related change initiatives as required.

Ideal Candidate

  • Significant experience in Compliance Governance, Risk or Regulatory Compliance within Financial Services.
  • Proven experience operating within a Second Line Compliance function.
  • Strong understanding of governance frameworks, policy management and regulatory change.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide leadership in interim or transformation-focused environments.
  • Comfortable operating both strategically and at a detailed execution level.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills with the confidence to influence and challenge senior leaders.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
