Specialty Operator 1 (5118)- 2nd shift

$24.00 - $25.60 depending on hire date plus shift differential

**RESUME REQUIRED**

Nature & Scope:

This person will be responsible for plating activities to include operating the plater to plate parts, making quality inspections, and performing tank and preventive maintenance on the plating machine and related equipment. An operator position requires a person who can effectively support a Lean manufacturing and team-based production facility through continuous improvement efforts. They will learn and then apply the tools of Lean, Shop Floor Management, Masco Operating System, and core values of People, Credibility, High Performance Teams, Customer Service and Continuous Improvement – Innovation. A person must be able to perform each essential duty well (accurately, organized, and timely), be customer focused, have a positive attitude, and willing to work overtime. The person should have a desire for continual improvement in themselves and their business processes.

Essential Duties / Tasks (including but not limited to):

  • Start up and shut down plating machine.
  • Operate plater to produce parts.
  • Make chemical adds and coordinate with chemical laboratory and
  • Adhere to the TruChem maintenance schedule.
  • Perform plating tank maintenance.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on machines and equipment.
  • Work in confined spaces at times
  • Work at above ground elevations
  • Climb stairs frequently.
  • Report-out technical information
  • Water Spider and rack / un-rack parts when necessary
  • Perform parts inspection.
  • Work safely while performing job duties.
  • Make hazard observations, observe unsafe actions, and report both using Delta Faucet’s procedures.
  • Perform housekeeping duties consistent with 5S and visual workplace standards.
  • Accept / Reject parts to DS-500 specifications.
  • Perform ERGO stretches.

Education, Experience, and Skills:

  • HS degree or HS equivalency diploma is recommended.
  • Prior plating experience is desired.
  • Problem solving and trouble shooting skills.
  • Willing to work necessary overtime.
  • Lift up to 40 lbs.
  • Certified in confined spaces, fall protection and other required safety training or willing to achieve certification in all training.
  • Ability to work independently and with limited supervision.
  • May require forklift (PIV) certification.
  • Acceptable disciplinary performance – Employees who have received a written warning (first or second) are not eligible for promotions or transfers for a minimum of six months after receiving that warning.
  • Acceptable attendance performance - Employees who have six or more points are not eligible for promotions or transfers.
  • A human performance evaluation or HPE is an evaluation of a person’s physical ability to do a job. HPE may be required of the applicant or employee to determine if they are physically able to perform different tasks related to skills that are critical for success on the job, such as lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling.

Qualifications:

Language Skills

The individual should have the ability to read and interpret documents like safety rules, Delta specifications, Standard Work Instructions, job instruction documents, and aspects of Delta’s MOS (Masco Operating System), SFM (Shop Floor Management) system, QMS (Quality Management System) and ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) system.

Mathematical Skills

The individual must have the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers and decimals.

Reasoning Ability

The individual must have the ability to apply reason and understanding to carry out instructions provided in written, oral, or diagram form. The person must be able to understand basic reports and daily business requirements.
