The posting

Summary Delta Star Inc. is seeking a skilled and safety‑driven Field Service Technician to support the assembly, oil processing, testing, maintenance, and repair of power transformers across a wide range of voltage classes. If you enjoy hands‑on technical work, thrive in outdoor environments, and are motivated by solving complex challenges in the field—we want to hear from you! What You’ll Do As a Field Service Technician, you’ll work as part of a field crew supporting moderate to complex transformer service projects under the direction of Lead or Senior Field Service Technicians. You’ll perform mechanical and electrical assembly, oil processing, testing, and repair activities while maintaining a strong focus on safety, quality, and professionalism. A Day in the Life Your day may begin with reviewing project scope, drawings, and site requirements before heading to a customer location—often a live substation. You’ll assist with transformer assembly, gasket replacements, oil processing, and testing activities. You may operate vacuum oil processors, troubleshoot warranty issues, support customer installations, or conduct field testing. Work is largely outdoors, across all weather conditions, and often involves significant physical activity. Safety awareness and teamwork are essential every day. Specific Duties

Operate oil processing equipment and assist with vacuum oil fills and circulation. Complete vacuum logs, oil processing documentation, and testing connections. Perform common transformer services, including gasket replacement, oil drains/fills, relocations, retrogen fills, and internal inspections. Conduct warranty work and troubleshoot issues such as leaks, gauge replacements, radiator issues, and CT replacements. Support and supervise customer installations, answering technical questions professionally. Perform DSFS field testing, including insulation resistance, power factor (overall and bushing), hot collar, excitation, surge arrester, oil testing, and basic control verification (fans, LTCs, nitrogen systems). Identify transformer components, verify shipping manifests, and assess missing or loose parts. Demonstrate working knowledge of LTC components, controls, oil handling, leak remediation, and operational checks. Assist with general equipment maintenance and restocking supplies. Maintain accurate bi‑monthly timesheets and weekly expense reports. Work safely in outdoor environments and less‑than‑ideal jobsite conditions.

What We’re Looking For A technically capable and professional field service technician with hands‑on transformer experience, strong safety discipline, and the flexibility to support demanding field schedules. Position Requirements

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
