Job Description: General Worker

Department:Operations – Warehouse / Workshop Reports to: Assigned Supervisor

Role Purpose

Support daily warehouse and workshopoperations by assisting with goods handling, packing, basic preparation work,and housekeeping. Help keep materials organised, work areas safe, and assignedtasks completed accurately and on time.

Key Responsibilities

· Goods handling: Assist with receiving, loading, unloading, and moving pumps, spareparts, materials, and supplies using approved handling methods and equipment.

· Warehouse support: Arrange goods in designated locations, label items as instructed,assist with stock checks, and report shortages, damage, or discrepancies to thesupervisor.

· Packing and dispatch: Assist with picking, checking, packing, and preparing goods fordelivery according to instructions. Protect items against damage and keeporders clearly identified.

· Workshop support: Assist technicians with preparing materials, cleaning components,and setting up or clearing work areas. Perform basic assigned tasks only withinthe training and supervision provided.

· Tools and equipment: Keep tools clean, return them to designated locations, and reportdefects or missing items promptly.

· Housekeeping: Keep warehouse, workshop, and common work areas clean andorganised. Keep walkways, exits, and loading areas clear, and dispose of wastein designated locations.

· Safety: Follow workplace safety procedures and use required protectiveequipment. Operate machinery, lifting equipment, or powered tools only whentrained and authorised. Report unsafe conditions, incidents, and damagedequipment promptly.

· Other support: Carry out other reasonable operational duties assigned by thesupervisor, within the worker’s training, capability, and safety requirements.

Job Requirements

· Previous warehouse, workshop,or general operations experience is helpful but not essential; willingness tolearn is important.

· Able to understand workinstructions, identify item labels, and carry out basic counting and checking.

· Able to perform the role’smanual tasks safely, using appropriate handling aids and assistance whereneeded.

· Reliable, punctual, carefulwith company property, and willing to work with others.

· Willing to follow safetyprocedures and ask for clarification before carrying out unfamiliar tasks.

Work Standards

· Complete assigned tasksaccurately and within agreed timelines; inform the supervisor early if thereare delays or difficulties.

· Handle goods carefully toprevent damage, loss, and order mix-ups.

· Maintain clean and orderly workareas throughout the day and before leaving.

· Follow instructions,communicate problems promptly, and do not take shortcuts that compromise safetyor quality.
