Job Description:

The Commerce & Retail Media team at dentsu helps leading retailers and brands accelerate growth through connected commerce and retail media. We are seeking a dynamic, solution-oriented Retail Media Manager to join our growing team supporting a large, established retail media network.

As a Manager, Commerce & Retail Media, you will serve as a strategic partner across a portfolio of advertiser and stakeholder relationships, helping translate business objectives into effective retail media strategies and campaigns. You will develop growth strategies, uncover opportunities, solve complex business challenges, and build trusted relationships across advertisers, agency partners, media platforms, and internal teams.

This role combines strategic account leadership with hands-on retail media activation. You will partner closely with operational and activation teams to ensure campaigns are executed accurately and efficiently, while maintaining a strong focus on performance insights, advertiser engagement, optimization, and business growth.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a primary strategic partner across assigned advertiser and stakeholder relationships, building trust, understanding business priorities, and identifying opportunities for long-term growth.
  • Develop and oversee retail media strategies aligned with advertiser objectives, campaign KPIs, and broader business goals.
  • Translate advertiser objectives into actionable media plans across relevant retail media channels, platforms, and solutions.
  • Provide subject matter expertise across retail media, commerce, eCommerce, digital media, and performance marketing.
  • Analyze campaign and business performance to identify trends, opportunities, risks, and actionable optimization recommendations.
  • Translate data and campaign results into compelling insights, strategic recommendations, and clear performance narratives for advertisers and stakeholders.
  • Partner closely with activation and operational teams to ensure campaigns are launched, managed, optimized, and delivered accurately and efficiently.
  • Maintain hands-on responsibility for campaign activation and execution as needed, balancing strategic leadership with day-to-day account needs.
  • Serve as an escalation point for complex campaign, advertiser, platform, or business challenges, bringing together the right teams to drive resolution.
  • Build strong relationships across advertisers, agencies, technology partners, media platforms, and internal cross-functional teams.
  • Collaborate with analytics, sales, activation, planning, and leadership teams to develop integrated solutions that support advertiser objectives and business growth.
  • Identify opportunities to expand advertiser investment through performance insights, new capabilities, emerging channels, and strategic recommendations.
  • Coach and mentor junior team members, strengthening their capabilities in retail media strategy, activation, client management, and performance storytelling.
  • Contribute to process improvements, training, best practices, and thought leadership that help scale the broader retail media organization.
  • Stay current on retail media trends, platform innovation, measurement capabilities, emerging media channels, and evolving eCommerce opportunities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, Analytics, or a related field preferred.
  • 4–6+ years of experience in retail media, commerce media, eCommerce, digital advertising, paid search, programmatic media, or performance marketing.
  • Experience working with retail media networks, retailers, agencies, consumer brands, or CPG advertisers strongly preferred.
  • Experience managing complex advertiser relationships and translating business objectives into actionable media strategies.
  • Strong understanding of retail media networks and the broader commerce ecosystem, including areas such as onsite media, offsite media, paid search, display, programmatic, social, and measurement.
  • Strong understanding of digital advertising fundamentals, campaign activation, optimization, measurement, and performance marketing.
  • Proven ability to build trusted relationships with advertisers, agency partners, media platforms, and cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to identify growth opportunities, navigate ambiguity, and develop solutions to complex business challenges.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to turn campaign and business data into clear, actionable recommendations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, presentation, and storytelling skills, including the ability to communicate complex information to different audiences.
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor, coach, or develop junior team members.
  • Ability to manage multiple advertiser relationships, campaigns, priorities, and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Enthusiasm for retail media, commerce, performance marketing, technology, innovation, and building scalable solutions.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
