Job Description: eTreasury Platform Consultant

Location: Herndon VA

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced eTreasury Platform Consultant to support the assessment, design, and implementation of a modern eTreasury platform for business and commercial banking.

The consultant will assess the bank’s current eTreasury implementation, analyze business and technology capabilities, define requirements for a new platform, and recommend a future-ready solution aligned with industry practices. The role requires strong knowledge of commercial banking treasury services and practical experience defining or implementing eTreasury platforms, including familiarity with FIS Dragonfly eTreasury or comparable platforms.

Key Responsibilities

Current-State Assessment

  • Assess the bank’s existing eTreasury platform, operating model, product capabilities, integrations, and technology architecture.
  • Analyze current business processes, customer journeys, service models, workflows, and operational controls.
  • Identify platform strengths, limitations, technical debt, process gaps, and opportunities for modernization.
  • Review existing treasury products and services, including:Cash management Payments and collections Liquidity management Account and transaction services Receivables management Account reporting and reconciliation User administration and entitlements Notifications and alerts Host-to-host and API-based connectivity
  • Evaluate current integrations with core banking, payment, fraud, risk, accounting, reporting, and customer relationship management systems.
  • Document dependencies, data flows, system interfaces, and operational handoffs.

Business and Capability Analysis

  • In absence of consistent access to business team , analysis the artefacts - test cases, logs, data dictionaries , ER diagrams etc to create the requirements and capabilityview
  • Translate business objectives into clear functional and non-functional requirements.
  • Define the capabilities required for a new eTreasury platform supporting business and commercial banking clients.
  • Analyze customer segments, treasury use cases, user personas, and servicing requirements.
  • Define requirements for corporate onboarding, account setup, user administration, entitlements, approvals, transaction processing, reporting, and self-service capabilities.
  • Identify opportunities to simplify processes, improve client experience, reduce manual activity, and enable digital servicing.
  • Establish capability gaps between the current state and the target state.

Future-State Platform Definition

  • Define the target operating model and future-state capabilities for a robust and scalable eTreasury platform.
  • Develop a platform vision aligned with commercial banking strategy, customer expectations, and technology modernization objectives.
  • Define requirements for modular, configurable, and extensible platform components.
  • Recommend capabilities that support:
  • Multi-channel accessRole-based user administration Flexible entitlement and approval models Real-time or near-real-time account and transaction information Payment initiation and monitoring Cash position and liquidity visibility Digital reporting and reconciliation API and host-to-host connectivity Event-driven notifications and alerts Configurable workflows Strong auditability and operational controls Secure integration with internal and external systems
  • Define principles for scalability, resilience, availability, security, maintainability, and regulatory alignment.
  • Support the development of target-state architecture and platform transition approaches.

Industry and Product Best Practices

  • Bring relevant industry perspectives on eTreasury platforms and commercial banking technology.
  • Benchmark proposed capabilities against established commercial banking and treasury management practices.
  • Recommend modern user experience, integration, data, automation, and servicing patterns.
  • Identify opportunities to support emerging requirements such as:API-enabled treasury services Embedded finance and ecosystem connectivity Real-time payments and account information Intelligent cash forecasting Automated reconciliation Configurable digital workflows Self-service administration Data-driven treasury insights
  • Distinguish proven industry practices from emerging or future-state concepts.
  • Ensure recommendations are practical, achievable, and aligned with the bank’s business and technology landscape.

FIS Dragonfly Knowledge

  • Apply knowledge of FIS Dragonfly eTreasury to assess relevant platform capabilities, configuration options, integration considerations, and implementation dependencies in the current environment
  • Highlight potential capability gaps, customization risks, operational implications, and migration considerations

Requirements and Implementation Support

  • Produce business requirements, functional requirements, capability maps, process models, user journeys, and fit-gap assessments.
  • Define acceptance criteria and measurable outcomes for major platform capabilities.
  • Support prioritization of requirements using appropriate categories such as:Mandatory High priority Recommended Future roadmap
  • Support implementation planning, roadmap development, release planning, and transition strategy.
  • Collaborate with architecture, engineering, security, data, testing, and delivery teams.
  • Support solution design reviews and ensure that business requirements remain traceable through implementation.

Required Qualifications and Experience

· Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, banking, information technology, engineering, or a related discipline.

· Significant experience in commercial banking, transaction banking, cash management, treasury services, or digital banking platforms.

· Demonstrated experience defining, implementing, modernizing, or transforming eTreasury platforms.

· Practical knowledge of business banking and commercial banking treasury use cases.

· Experience assessing existing platforms and defining requirements for replacement or modernization programs.

· Experience with one or more eTreasury, cash management, transaction banking, or corporate banking platforms.

· Knowledge of FIS Dragonfly eTreasury is strongly preferred.

· Experience in platform capability assessment, fit-gap analysis, business process analysis, and requirements definition.

· Experience working with cross-functional stakeholders across business, product, operations, architecture, technology, risk, security, and compliance.

· Strong understanding of banking integrations, including core banking, payment systems, accounting, reporting, fraud, risk, API, and host-to-host connectivity.

· Experience contributing to large-scale banking transformation or platform implementation programs.

Preferred Qualifications

· Experience with corporate treasury management and digital cash management solutions.

· Knowledge of payment initiation, account reporting, liquidity management, receivables, reconciliation, and corporate connectivity.

· Experience defining digital onboarding, customer administration, entitlements, approval workflows, and service management capabilities.

· Familiarity with cloud-enabled, modular, event-driven, or API-first banking platform architectures.

· Relevant business analysis, product management, banking technology, or architecture certifications are beneficial but not mandatory.
