Meet the team:

The Direct Materials Sourcing team is a group of category experts responsible for building resilient supply networks, securing qualified capacity, managing total cost, enabling new product introduction, and reducing supply risk. This Sr. Manager will lead Dexcom's Electronics and Contract Manufacturing sourcing organization, with accountability for category strategy, supplier capacity and continuity, commercial performance, lifecycle and obsolescence management, component-level risk, contract strategy, cost productivity, and supplier readiness across current and future Dexcom product platforms. The leader will connect semiconductor and component manufacturers, authorized channels, Tier 2 and Tier 3 suppliers, and contract manufacturers into an integrated supply strategy aligned with Dexcom's product roadmap, commercial demand, and long-range growth scenarios.

Where you come in:

Category scope:

The portfolio includes Contract Manufacturing and electronics manufacturing services (EMS); PCBA and electronic assemblies; integrated circuits and active components, including AFE, BLE/wireless, TMR, memory and other application-specific chips; batteries; printed circuit boards; passive components; crystals and oscillators; temperature sensors; cables and discrete electronic components; Receiver electronic components and finished goods; and the critical Tier 2 and Tier 3 suppliers, manufacturing sites, raw materials, and logistics nodes supporting these categories.

· Lead, develop, and coach a team of category managers responsible for Contract Manufacturing, PCBA, integrated circuits, batteries, PCBs, passives, crystals, temperature sensors, Receiver electronics, and related finished goods.

· Develop and execute short- and long-term category strategies that align technology roadmaps, supplier capability, qualified capacity, cost, quality, risk, geographic footprint, and lifecycle requirements with Dexcom product and business plans.

· Own executive supplier relationships and commercial strategy across EMS partners, semiconductor and component manufacturers, authorized channels, Tier 1 suppliers, and critical sub-tier suppliers.

· Lead supplier selection, RFIs/RFQs, negotiations, contracting, cost improvement, capacity assurance and reservation strategies, allocation models, scenario-based demand and capacity reconciliation, recovery planning, and business continuity plans.

· Build sourcing strategies through the full electronics value chain, including semiconductor foundry and assembly/test dependencies, battery suppliers, PCB fabricators, component manufacturers, authorized distribution, Tier 2 and Tier 3 suppliers, PCBA manufacturing, final assembly, test, and critical raw materials.

· Own BOM-level electronics supply-risk management across current and future products, including visibility to supplier, part, manufacturing-site, sub-tier, raw-material, and common-node dependencies.

· Establish a single, fact-based supplier-readiness view covering BOM/AML status, supplier award, purchase-order placement, material lead time, inventory coverage, component and manufacturing capacity, qualification, contracts, alternate sources, and recovery actions.

· Validate supplier capacity claims against demonstrated output, yield, OEE, equipment, labor, materials, lead times, planned expansion, and recovery assumptions rather than relying solely on stated nameplate capacity.

· Lead electronics sourcing through product transitions and lifecycle events, including G7-to-G8 migration, supplier ramp-up and ramp-down, last-time buys, inventory exposure, shelf life, obsolescence, alternate-source qualification, and end-of-life execution.

· Serve as the accountable commercial integrator across Planning, R&D, Electrical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Supplier Quality, Operations, Finance, Legal, Supply Chain, and NPI for electronics sourcing decisions.

· Partner with technical and operational teams to improve design-for-supply, component selection, manufacturability, supplier readiness, validation planning, launch execution, and continuity throughout the product lifecycle.

· Establish market-intelligence and risk-management mechanisms for lead times, allocations, PCN/EOL notices, obsolescence, counterfeit risk, fab and assembly/test constraints, geopolitical exposure, tariffs, single-source dependencies, and industry-driven raw-material constraints.

· Translate supplier and component risks into executable mitigation plans covering safety stock, protected inventory, alternate qualification, capacity protection, contractual safeguards, and executive escalation.

· Drive a repeatable cost-productivity pipeline using should-cost, clean-sheet, open-book, value engineering, total cost of ownership, alternate sourcing, conversion-cost improvement, process productivity, packaging/logistics, and supply-base leverage.

· Quantify sourcing opportunities and exposures using annualized financial impact, investment requirements, timing, return, implementation risk, inventory liability, and total-cost tradeoffs.

· Structure commercial agreements that protect Dexcom on supply assurance, capacity, allocation, inventory, safety stock, excess and obsolete material, volume commitments, pricing, productivity, change control, transition support, and business continuity.

· Distinguish forecasts and planning assumptions from approved commercial commitments and ensure material supplier decisions, obligations, and protections are documented and enforceable.

· Create fact-based executive recommendations that clearly separate confirmed facts, assumptions, evidence gaps, decisions, tradeoffs, financial exposure, supply risk, accountable ownership, and execution milestones.

· Position Strategic Sourcing as a competitive advantage for Dexcom through technology access, supplier innovation, resilient supply, competitive product cost, disciplined governance, and speed.

People leadership:

· Set clear priorities, measurable objectives, ownership, operating cadence, and escalation expectations for the electronics sourcing team.

· Coach category managers on strategy development, electronics value-chain knowledge, negotiations, contracting, executive communication, supplier governance, and cross-functional influence.

· Build category-specific capability through structured development plans, standard work, sourcing playbooks, succession planning, and deliberate knowledge transfer.

· Develop category managers who can independently lead complex supplier negotiations, executive reviews, risk decisions, and cross-functional sourcing strategies.

· Create a high-performance, collaborative environment where issues are escalated early, commitments are followed through, and decisions are supported by a trusted single source of truth.

What makes you successful:

· Proven people-leadership experience managing strategic sourcing or category management teams supporting electronics, PCBAs, semiconductors, and contract manufacturing in a complex, regulated manufacturing environment.

· Demonstrated experience managing semiconductor and electronic-component supply chains, including foundry, assembly/test, manufacturers, authorized distribution, and critical sub-tier relationships.

· Demonstrated leadership of global EMS/CM relationships covering PCBA, SMT, testing, automation, component procurement, manufacturing capacity, qualification, production ramp, and ongoing performance.

· Ability to evaluate fab and assembly/test capacity, allocation, lead-time, lifecycle, raw-material, and obsolescence exposure and translate constraints into sourcing, inventory, capacity, and commercial strategies.

· Experience negotiating supply assurance, capacity reservations, allocation mechanisms, volume commitments, pricing structures, productivity obligations, and long-term agreements for constrained electronic components and manufacturing services.

· Ability to connect CM-level material planning and production constraints to upstream component supply and downstream Dexcom demand.

· Experience managing Tier 1, Tier 2, and Tier 3 supplier relationships across commercial performance, capacity, quality, technology, continuity, lifecycle, and risk.

· Proven ability to translate product roadmaps, BOM/AML data, demand scenarios, LRP assumptions, engineering requirements, inventory positions, and supply-market intelligence into executable sourcing and capacity strategies.

· Proven record of delivering cost productivity, supply continuity, supplier transitions, NPI readiness, lifecycle/EOL execution, and business continuity in a matrix organization.

· Strong negotiation, contracting, supplier relationship management, change-management, and executive stakeholder influence skills.

· Ability to develop quantitative and qualitative business cases, communicate tradeoffs, secure leadership alignment, and maintain durable decision and action records.

· Credible, direct, and knowledgeable leadership style, with the ability to become a trusted business advisor to technical, operational, financial, and executive stakeholders.

· Strong financial analysis, market analysis, strategic planning, program management, and structured problem-solving capabilities.

· Advanced proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint, with the ability to extract insights from complex BOM, forecast, capacity, inventory, cost, and supplier-performance data and communicate them with executive-level clarity.

Preferred qualifications:

· Experience in medical device, life sciences, automotive, aerospace, or another highly regulated manufacturing industry.

· Experience supporting high-volume, global manufacturing networks and product platforms through launch, scale, redesign, transfer, ramp-down, and end-of-life.

· Experience with global EMS providers, semiconductor manufacturers, PCB/PCBA suppliers, battery and electronic-component manufacturers, and authorized distributors.

· Knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, value engineering, should-cost, total cost of ownership, supplier development, and structured cost-productivity methods.

· Experience supporting NPI, design transfers, component qualifications, supplier change controls, product lifecycle and obsolescence management, and global supply-network transitions.

· Practical knowledge of ERP/eProcurement, spend analytics, supplier performance, risk intelligence, BOM/AML management, and contract lifecycle management systems.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
