Internship: Freight Digital Customer Journey
In this role, you will support key initiatives within the transformation of the digital customer journey for our Global Freight Customer Service organisation at DFDS. Our ambition is clear: by 2030, we want to deliver a seamless, digital, and standardised set-up that makes it easy to be a customer and easy to interact with customers across all freight touchpoints.
To achieve this, our Customer Service transformation is built on three strategic pillars:
1) Self-Service:
- Building a one-stop-shop where customers can book and track units throughout the entire journey and across transport modalities.
2) Contact Center Platform:
- Creating an interaction platform that enables Customer Service teams to engage with customers efficiently when support is needed, supported by a knowledge base that enhances the overall customer experience.
3) Control Tower:
- Developing our internal platform for managing customer bookings, providing Customer Service with a more seamless and standardised way of handling bookings and tracking units across the DFDS network.
As an intern, you will work across all three pillars, supporting and driving the planning, coordination, and delivery of transformation initiatives. You will gain exposure to business and technology stakeholders and help ensure that projects move forward efficiently while creating value for our Customer Service organisation and customers.
Examples of responsibilities
- Lead and assist on projects in various areas along the customer journey to help drive digitisation and standardisation across the DFDS Ferry domain (e.g. standardising customer service and sales processes)
- Drive or assist with project planning, coordination, and follow-up on key initiatives depending on size of project
- Prepare presentations for key stakeholders at all levels of the organisation including the executive suite
- Manage stakeholders e.g. local DFDS offices, and help roll out digitalisation and standardisation initiatives by interacting with particularly local customer service teams
- Conduct end-to-end process explorations and ad-hoc analyses, incl. building business cases
- Helping track project progress, dependencies, risks, and actions across initiatives
- Support with implementations e.g. testing, plan change management activities and ensure solutions are properly adopted
You will gain hands-on experience with large-scale business transformation, digital product development, process improvement, and change management in an international organisation.
You will play an important supporting role in our Customer Service transformation by helping teams stay aligned, ensuring key activities are coordinated effectively, and contributing to the successful adoption of new digital solutions and ways of working across the organisation.
