Job summary

As a Solution Engineer based in Malaysia, you will combine technical expertise, commercial awareness, and strong communication skills to help DigiCert identify, qualify, develop, and close business opportunities across APJ. You will support both direct customer engagements and DigiCert's partner ecosystem, working closely with Account Managers, regional sales teams, partners, and cross-functional stakeholders.

A significant part of the role will involve strengthening partner technical capability across the region through enablement, training, demonstrations, joint customer engagements, and participation in partner and industry events. At the same time, the role will remain flexible and may be assigned to direct sales opportunities, strategic accounts, priority markets, or other APJ initiatives according to business needs.

You will act as a trusted technical advisor throughout the sales cycle. This includes discovery, solution design, demonstrations, proofs of concept and value, technical validation, tender support, and clear articulation of business value. You will translate customer and partner requirements into practical DigiCert solutions and help stakeholders adopt repeatable, scalable approaches to digital trust.

Estimated travel: 25-50%, primarily across ASEAN, depending on customer, partner, and event requirements.

What you will do

Customer engagement and technical discovery

  • Conduct technical discovery to understand customer objectives, security requirements, pain points, existing infrastructure, operational processes, and success criteria.
  • Lead or participate in customer meetings, workshops, product demonstrations, and technical presentations that connect DigiCert capabilities to measurable business value.
  • Translate complex technical and business requirements into practical solution designs, configurations, and implementation approaches.
  • Scope customer environments and recommend the most appropriate DigiCert products, services, integrations, and deployment options.
  • Plan and support proofs of concept or value, including agreed outcomes, test criteria, stakeholder responsibilities, and technical validation.

Partner enablement and field support

  • Build trusted technical relationships with DigiCert partners across APJ and help develop their capability to position, demonstrate, design, and support DigiCert solutions.
  • Deliver partner enablement through structured training, technical workshops, solution briefings, demonstrations, hands-on sessions, and reusable technical content.
  • Support partners in joint discovery, solution design, demonstrations, proofs of concept or value, and customer-facing technical engagements.
  • Help partners identify customer use cases, qualify technical opportunities, address objections, and communicate the business and security value of DigiCert solutions.
  • Represent DigiCert at partner, customer, and industry events, including presentations, workshops, demonstrations, and technical discussions.
  • Capture partner feedback, capability gaps, competitive insights, and recurring field requirements, and share them with relevant DigiCert teams.
  • Promote repeatable partner-led approaches by developing and maintaining reference architectures, demonstration assets, technical guidance, and enablement materials.

Solution design and architecture

  • Design tailored technical solutions involving product configuration, deployment architecture, integrations, APIs, automation, and operational workflows.
  • Create clear architecture diagrams, technical proposals, integration guidance, solution documentation, and proof-of-concept plans.
  • Collaborate with Product Management, Engineering, Professional Services, Support, and other specialists to validate feasibility and address complex or emerging requirements.
  • Support RFP and RFI responses, technical questionnaires, bids, tenders, and security or architecture reviews.
  • Maintain current knowledge of DigiCert products, platform capabilities, integrations, competitive offerings, and relevant security and technology trends.

Cross-functional collaboration

  • Partner with Account Executives, Channel and Alliance teams, Customer Success Managers, and regional leadership to align technical strategy with customer and partner goals.
  • Work across APJ teams and markets, adapting support to regional priorities, opportunity complexity, partner maturity, and business demand.
  • Provide field feedback to Product Management and advocate for enhancements, integrations, and roadmap priorities supported by clear customer or partner use cases.
  • Coordinate with Professional Services and delivery stakeholders to establish realistic scope, responsibilities, assumptions, and implementation expectations.

What you will have

Education and experience

  • A degree in Computer Information Systems, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5+ years of experience as a Solution Engineer, Sales Engineer, technical salesperson, or in an applicable product management, engineering, enterprise support, consulting, or systems administration role.
  • Experience supporting complex enterprise sales cycles and communicating with both technical and business stakeholders.
  • Experience working with partners, distributors, resellers, service providers, or technology alliances is highly desirable.
  • Experience delivering technical training, enablement sessions, workshops, or presentations to varied audiences.

Technical skills

  • Strong general IT knowledge, ideally including server administration, operating systems, TCP/IP networking, network infrastructure, protocols, LAN and WAN technologies, and network design.
  • Knowledge of information security concepts, ideally including PKI, digital certificates, cryptography, certificate lifecycle management, firewalls, vulnerability management, and identity or access technologies.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud, or Oracle Cloud, and container technologies such as Kubernetes.
  • Experience or familiarity with ServiceNow, GitHub, REST APIs, and enterprise integrations.
  • Hands-on exposure to scripting and automation using Bash, PowerShell, Python, or similar languages.
  • Experience with DevOps and infrastructure automation tools such as Terraform, Ansible, Puppet, or Chef.

Professional skills

  • Self-motivated and able to prioritize and operate independently while remaining aligned with sales, partner, and regional objectives.
  • Strong technical, analytical, and organizational skills, with the creativity to remove technical sales obstacles and simplify complex topics.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, presentation, facilitation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Confidence working with customers and partners across different countries, cultures, levels of technical maturity, and stakeholder groups.
  • Strong business acumen and situational awareness, supported by professionalism, humility, collaboration, and customer focus.
  • Basic project management skills and the ability to coordinate multiple opportunities, enablement activities, and events.
  • A commitment to continuous learning and the practical application of new technologies and approaches.
  • Fluency in English. Additional APJ language capability is advantageous.

Nice to have

  • Cybersecurity certifications such as CISSP, GSEC, CCSP, or equivalent.
  • Hands-on experience with certificate management platforms, PKI operations, HSMs, cryptographic tools, or certificate automation.
  • Familiarity with code signing, load balancers, secure key storage, device identity, or software supply chain security.
  • Understanding of SSO, SAML, OpenID Connect, and certificate-based authentication methods.
  • Experience developing or delivering partner certification, enablement, or technical readiness programs.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a proactive security mindset.

Benefits

  • Competitive compensation, including variable incentive compensation where applicable.
  • Performance-based incentives and recognition programs.
  • Retirement benefits and insurance coverage, subject to local eligibility and policy.
  • Comprehensive health and wellness support, including medical coverage where applicable, wellbeing resources, and employee assistance services.
  • Generous paid time off, public holidays, and additional leave options.
  • Family-friendly leave policies, including maternity, paternity, and other supportive leave programs.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
