Overview

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Mechanical Engineer to support the design, development and testing of mechanical components and products. The role involves translating product requirements into practical design solutions, developing 3D models and technical drawings, and assisting with prototype development and testing.

The successful candidate will work closely with engineering, design and manufacturing teams to ensure products meet technical specifications, performance requirements and manufacturing standards. This is an opportunity for candidates with a strong foundation in mechanical design and CAD modelling to contribute to product development from concept through to production.

Job Responsibilities

  • Conduct research to understand user requirements, market trends and product specifications.
  • Develop design concepts, 3D models and prototypes using CAD software, particularly SolidWorks.
  • Prepare detailed mechanical drawings, models and technical specifications.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure designs meet technical requirements and performance standards.
  • Select suitable materials and manufacturing processes based on product requirements, functionality and cost considerations.
  • Assist in prototype fabrication, assembly and testing to validate design concepts and functionality.
  • Analyze test results, identify design issues and implement improvements to enhance product performance and reliability.
  • Work with cross-functional teams, including industrial designers, electrical engineers and manufacturing personnel, to support product development and production.
  • Participate in design reviews and incorporate feedback from relevant stakeholders.
  • Liaise with suppliers and vendors to assess design feasibility, material availability and manufacturing costs.
  • Prepare and maintain technical documentation, including design specifications, calculations, drawings and revision records.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and perform other engineering-related duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

  • Minimum Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design or a related discipline.
  • At least 2 years of experience in mechanical product design is preferred.
  • Fresh graduates with relevant technical skills and a strong design portfolio are welcome to apply.
  • Proficient in CAD software such as SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
  • Good understanding of mechanical engineering principles, material selection and manufacturing processes.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
  • Good communication and coordination skills, with the ability to work effectively across multidisciplinary teams.
  • Able to manage tasks independently while collaborating with colleagues to meet project deadlines.
  • Proactive, adaptable and willing to learn new design tools and engineering techniques.
